To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

IrelandIt’s very pretty hotel and so close to central station as well as all the canals. I got the single room and they gave me it with the view and I really enjoyed it. My only bad experience about this place was the woman that was in the reception when I checked in on 5th of April. She was extremely rude and when I asked questions she was like ‘first time in Amsterdam?’. No it’s not my first time in Amsterdam but I paid over 400€ for 2 nights so you have no right to be rude to the customer. I hope she can fix her attitude if she still wants to be in the service industry.

United KingdomGreat location and very easy to get to everywhere we wanted to quickly and easily, nice welcoming reception area, clean and nice decor. We were comfortable in our room, had plenty of space and everything we needed. The little gifts in arrival and departure were a lovely touch. Although it is a very modern looking hotel, this has been done well and it’s still nice to be in an old building. The staff were all friendly and helpful especially the lady who checked us out.

Although the room was very small, it had everything I needed and more. It was very functional and a bonus of looking over the canal and having a lift to the floor. The location was excellent, a 10 minute walk to the train station, staff were very friendly and welcoming and the hotel was lovely, cosy and relaxing. I will definitely stay again the next time I am in Amsterdam. Great breakfast buffet (although a little pricier than I would have expected).

BrazilAs I said in my general review, the only negative point is the small size of the rooms. However, this is clearly stated on the website and is acceptable for anyone not expecting or wanting a lot of space.
The Hotel is very well located, on a quiet street, facing one of the canals and within walking distance of several points of interest. The rooms are tiny, but I knew that when I booked. Despite this, it provides sufficient comfort. The bed is comfortable, and the bathroom is functional, with an excellent shower. The staff could not be more kind and helpful. The Hotel provides additional breakfast. For those like me who choose not to have breakfast, free coffee and hot chocolate are provided in an easy-to-use automatic machine. I enjoyed my experience at the Hotel, which I recommend to anyone who wants a more authentic experience of Amsterdam in a charming hotel in a typical city building.

United States of AmericaThe room and bathroom were rather small. The approach to the hotel was difficult due to the construction, but that is hopefully, a temporary condition.
Room was small and hard to move around due to the large bed. Nice perk was good Nespresso coffee in the room. Toiletries were minimal, just a soap on the wall. Location was excellent, near the Amsterdam Centraal train station, but it took a long time to reach it, due to the recent construction work. Breakfast was excellent, abundant and with good diversity. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
