Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Extra money for breakfast booking if late. If you do advance breakfast it was €7 but if you don’t then it will be €8.
Nice hostel just near the central station. Our stay was comfortable. There were bathrooms inside the room which was nice as well.

Can't really say, my stay was too short.
Location is awesome right in the middle of the city, easy access to most of the popular and touristic places. The breakfast is very well organised and good, worth booking it if you want to save some money.

Nothing !! apart from the top bunk doesn’t have any safety rails to stop you falling out so be careful after a few drinks 🤣
Amazing location ( close to station and the main centre ) really helpful staff - especially when you accidentally lock your locker key in your own locker 😭 nice bar / social area and a fully equipped kitchen with eating areas :) Really social, so easy to meet people and they have a range of activities which happen throughout the week as well as happy hours !!

They don't have toilets inside the bedroom.
The couple beds and how they leave everything organised, the location is amazing and the bathrooms, even they are not inside the rooms, they have enough space and hangers.

Location! Location! Was a winner and the 6 bed bunk room was so spacious and beds were so comfy for a hostel. Very clean sheets. Staff were super friendly..would come back again.

I think that the beds must have curtains.
Everything was clean and the attitude of the stuff. Also, the location is perfect and they solved all of our doubts.

Toilets are not enough on the floor 1 . Old style and basic bed ( I suggest at least a curtain in every bed for own privacy) . The price is too high . Please provide a little table bed for your personal object on your bed, close to the electric plugs (Phone ?? Book??water???). Too many humans in the dormitory need more space !

Mattresses were thin and gave us back ache but it’s a budget hostel so you can’t have it all. Pillows were feather filled which aren’t the best to sleep on so we found folding them in half helped to firm them up a bit. That’s personal preference though.
The toilets were SO clean. Continually checked and cleaned. Very impressed with that and something that really helps when staying somewhere away from home. The staff were super friendly and helpful. 10/10 for them!! The bedding was clean and great to have two separate duvets for when two people are sharing a queen bed in one of the bunks. Smoking room was super chill and a welcome addition too.

The Bed was terrible. Why because these are metal bank beds and very loud when someone moves or climbs, especially the metal storage underneath for the person sleeping at the bottom like I did. That’s really bad. I stayed at 2 different Hostels in Bali 2019 for the first time in my life and that was amazing. In Bali the Bank beds are made out of wood and are fixed to the wall. Each bed has its own shelves and a small safety box plus there were curtains for light privacy. Every movement from the above person is really loud because the bed bounces back to the wall.

The bar got to be a bit expensive, you would think they wouldn't be trying to make that much money off the people staying, however it would make a little sense just being expensive because its in netherlands.

The air conditioning ran throughout the night making the room really cold. I tried to switch it off but it didn’t work.
