눉The Restaurant was closed. Internet only works close to the main building and there was nobody for the first two days to give me the code. The stairs to the bedrooms upstairs is very narrow and goes around a corner - fitting for a Rorbuer but difficult for people with limited mobility.
눇Got the cottage I asked for. We arrived late and there was an envelop with the key and a description to the cottage by the main building. The cottage was warm and cozy. Very nice spot to see aurora borealis!

눉Check in was a farce. The owner was sick but had made no arrangements to cover this. I was left sorting through a pile of poorly labelled keys at the reception door and being asked to read Norwegian unit names to the owner over the phone. I don't speak Norwegian. Finally got into the room but was disappointed to find that despite the specific promises in the booking.com room detail there was no washer, no dryer and no wifi signal. There was also a very nice looking heater with a hand written note on it that translated to "does not work" I rang the owner who said that there had never been a washer or dryer in the room and I must have been mistaken. There is only a washer in the (closed) guest house. On sending her a screen print showing that a washer and dryer was promised in the room she stated that no one had ever complained before. In regard to the wifi which was also clearly offered in the room summary, this lack was also apparently not her fault, had never been available and was impossible to provide. Being a wifi specialist myself I did offer some free advice to ask consultants to extend the wifi coverage area. A quick site survey showed that most units will not have a signal. Now about payment. At check in the owner said that because she was sick she could not accept credit card payment and I would have to put cash in the fridge. On reflection and after the very unsatisfactory discussions regarding missing facilities I realised that I would have no proof of payment or redress if the payment was lost. On checkout I rang, texted and emailed to say I was not comfortable leaving cash in a fridge and that I would give the credit card details over the phone. I received a reply over an hour later asking me to go to the local bank branch to deposit the money but I had already left the town for the next destination. I ended up having to make a money transfer at a postal outlet.
