Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

There were only a few cooking utensils and they were not in a good condition
The bed was comfortable, there was lots of storage room and the bathroom was cleaned often

Staff were okay, a place for longer stays not short. How the rooms worked was not explained and the rooms weren't numbered.
Very clean room. Beds were comfy and a quiet place to sleep.

There was a strange smell in the room that made it necessary to keep window open all the time. It became noisy during the night from people walking past the building.
I liked the close location to CBD.

The other areas of my apartment were gross, pubic in multiple areas, and didn't look like it had been cleaned properly in quite some time.
My room was ok. The bed was the perfect type for me and handy double door wardrobe. The desk was great. The staff were friendly and helpful.

A bit more cleaning in the general areas. They are all flats with 3 rooms. If you had a noisy neighbour , the walls are paper thin. For what I paid I didn't expect more really, it was central and served it's purpose.
I had a super room. At the price you got what you get. I found the general areas in the building could do with some tlc but my room was ok.

Very bad check in experience with staff member arguing with a tenant. Also the $200 deposit seems a little much.

The deposit of $200 was a surprise, and it was returned to my card in a very odd way, firstly they sent me €116 twice (as an accident I guess) and then deducted €120 - they never responded to my message about these transactions. Moreover, it was very rainy and windy those days there and in the middle of the night we woke up to water drops falling to the middle of our bed, after mentioning it to the staff that just said it's normal. It was economic option of our stay but definitely not the most comfy or friendly.
A small grocery shop just next to the accommodation.

Bedding was clean, everything else was relatively clean but some things needed actual cleaning like the kitchen cupboards/microwave and drawers on the room. It's a bit more run down than the pix but if you're 2ppl in a room, it is basically $30ea so it's not bad. Would stay again if we were seeing a show at the powerstation again. With only 2 other rooms per apartment we didn't run into facility sharing issues

The corridors, stairs, lift and entrance were pretty disgusting, I was worried about where I'd booked.
Room was a good size with bed, desk and wardobe, location was handy. Towels and amenities provided were great.

Everything from the wonky mattress, amenities, showerhead, unclean and dusty floor, dusty and unclean towel and linen, and tiny "kitchen". paper-thin walls and ceiling. FAKE kitchen hood !! LOL this is illegal! The photo is misleading - it makes the kitchen area look much bigger, almost like a living space. There is NO living space and half m2 surface area for "kitchen". Your room automatically gets locked so be careful not to lock yourself out. $200 deposit fee (which still hasn't popped up in my bank). It was $60 for a night so it wasn't even a cheap option compared to other backpacker options which were much much much more comfortable!
The check-in process was okay but the staff was super unfriendly and unaccommodating. Apart from that, I couldn't think of things I liked.
