Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

It appeared that our belongings had been looked at i.e. my make up, as when we returned post the cleaning of the room, these items were not where we left them. Didn't notice that anything was missing though.
Enjoyed our stay - the receptionist (owners?) were friendly & helpful. The TV had access to Netflix & other movie apps - which was great!

The staff accomidated us with a early check in which we appreciated a lot. Tub jets didn't work but was still very lovely to be able to have a late night soak as they didn't have a cut off time and we appreciated that as a family. Beautifully clean room beautiful beds and couches we will stay here again

When we booked in the kitchen light was out and hot water was turned off at about 11pm on Sat 30/3 and in the ,morning Sun 31/3 at about 8am the hot water was still off; I had to call the number on our booking for the hot water to be turned on as we need to take a shower and be ready for our meeting at Rotorua at 10:00am; A staff member came in to our room at about 8:10am to check and went away came back in about 5 mins and turned the hot water again and it was working. We have been to many hotels, motels and apartments all over NZ and overseas as well; and this is the first incident of hot water being turned off.
Room was great and bed was comfortable.

There was a noise, which seemed to be like someone bouncing a tennis ball against the wall. It might have been the plumbing but I got woken at 02.30. In fairness, I was out all day the next day so didn’t see the staff to tell them.
The bed was absolutely spotless and one of the most comfortable that I have ever slept in. The pillows were excellent quality too.

Spa pool was not working properly. Jets not operating so was a bath basically. Spa area was not fully enclosed with some of the roof open and the spa area needs a tidy up to bring up to a good standard. Had problem with the booking as apparently booking.com was not working properly when we booked and they had no record of it. Booking.com you need to sort yourself out as you could of had an unhappy customer. It was sorted, just, as we got the last room. Parking is a little tight. The outside night lighting was shining into our room as the curtains were too small for the window/door and kept us awake. Need bigger curtains and maybe less night lighting. We would come back to retry, maybe upstairs. Comments are made to offer constructive ideas.
Clean with comfortable bed. Linen clean and good bed. Warm room with large bathroom. Parking outside the door. Had good vibe and seemed ok. Would come back. Good tv choices. Thanks for sorting out the missed booking.

The laundry room wasn't accessible enough for us as we had to go into town to do washing after staying for 4 days
