Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Cable TV had limited channels TV remote control and phone were not working. However technician and staff remedied it right away.

Short wait at check in and they were able to find a room that was available a couple of hours before regular check in time. Location was great for the major shopping malls in the area with great dining options.

Wifi is weak. TV does not have enough international channels or world news.

Having stayed at the Ascott Makati several times over the years, as we’ve previously always had very good experiences, the room provided (on floor 9) on this occasion was a little under-whelming in comparison with our previous visits. We needed to request an additional clothes dryer to be provided as the existing washer dryer was slow and very inefficient, though this was promptly provided. As the drainage of water from the bath / shower was very slow, this was also reported and was promptly addressed by maintenance. The plug point in the kitchen by the kettle did not always seem to work, though the kettle did function well from an alternative plug point. As the local malls / shops / restaurants were closed on Good Friday, we did decide to try the hotel restaurant for breakfast, though found that the range and quality of food and the choice of beverages (e.g. no orange juice, no range of teas available other than black or green tea, very limited fruit options available) compared poorly with our previous visits. Unfortunately, we thought that the breakfast price point was a little high for what was actually on offer. In all, we were left a little disappointed with the hotel on this occasion, and would recommend checking / upgrading some of the room facilities, rather than waiting for things to be reported.
This is a very well located hotel, being attached to the Glorietta Mall, though unfortunately our stay coincided with the latter part of Holy Week which meant that the mall shops were closed on Maundy Thursday & Good Friday (something to consider when planning future travel arrangements). The room was clean, spacious and comfortable, with good kitchen and washing facilities. Staff were friendly, helpful and professional, and responded to queries in a timely and helpful way. Complimentary WiFi worked very well.

The showers in the bathroom need to be replaced or cleaned out due to water not spraying correctly.
Staff was always friendly and professional; able to meet accommodations when requested. Rooms were very clean and location was the best part as it was located within Glorietta and other nearby shopping areas.

I have been staying at Ascott every time I go home to the Philippines and would come to Manila. On this trip, the keycards were new but were not working properly in all the elevators so much so that I have to have all my cards re-programmed almost everyday during my 4-day stay. It was just cumbersome especially when you are carrying a lot or if you are in a hurry to go to your room and cards won’t work when you get to the elevator. Hopefully they resolve this issue soon.
Proximity from the airport, shopping, very respectful staff, the suite of rooms within one unit and this time the breakfast spread. The breakfast has improved a lot. They tweaked the food spread by changing or adding a few dishes and made the whole spread fit together and complimentary to each other. My suggestion. I would lose the pudding but add a fish dish such as - bangus or salmon or another local fish from the Philippines.

All the staff were friendly, courteous and helpful, the Buffet breakfast was delicious, room was clean and beds comfortable. WiFi was exceptional and location was perfect walked outside and the Glorietta Mall as right there.

Not much could have been better.
