Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe stayed in one of the train apartments and it did not disappoint. It was so beautiful, clean, and warm but also had cool air unit if needed. The breakfast was really excellent. We also made a reservation to eat in the restaurant in the evening; both the venison serloin and the pierogi dishes were exquisit. Bonus is that this accomodation has easy access to a couple of the publicly accessible walking route trails (Blue trail Białowieża - Czerlonka - Osada - Zwierzyniec, and the Red trail Białowieża - "Places of National Remembrance" Trail). I would recommend this place and stay again if I could.

Incredibly unique. Rail buildings and equipment provide a wonderful setting - especially while surrounded by the beautiful forest. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful and professional.

United StatesYou have to drive a considerable distance through a national park area to reach the hotel, which is fine, but there are speed traps. I got a ticket. It turned out to be rather small (less than $20), but I didn't like it that it was so strictly enforced. I wasn't going very far above the speed limit. The policewoman was very nice, but I felt annoyed. It took a long time to issue my ticket, and I was waiting there half an hour while it got darker outside.
This is a magical place. It's beautifully designed and decorated, like stepping into the late 19th century. An old railway station with authentic antique railway carriages has been converted into an inn. I was sorry that I was not very hungry the night I arrived. The food was truly superb, and I wanted to try more of the menu. Breakfast was also fabulous, served to my table and more than I could eat. Wonderful place. I hope to go back. I felt that the proprietors of this fine hotel were a bit sensitive about the historical "Tsarist Russian" theme in light of the current political climate and war in Ukraine. But the place is totally charming. The hosts are very helpful and friendly, the forest environs are peaceful and beautiful, and the cuisine is excellent. It should be remembered that Russia under the last tsar was an ally of the West and preferable to the current KGB dictatorship.

CyprusThis place is a must visit, honesly! I stayed with my partner in one of the four train carriages having the whole thing to our selves. The room was already warmed up for us, with underfloor heating and shower pressure better than in my own house! Not only staying there made me feel like being in a movie set, but also all the details of the room/carriage and the location added greatly to the whole experience. The restaurant, which was located in the old wooden station offered some great local specialities! the service was exceptional, the place clean and the surrounding was just beautiful. The staff offered us free bikes so we couold explore the beautiful countryside without the car. I will definately like to go back there! its a life time experience to be repeated.

United KingdomN/a!
The property is a restaurant and room/apartments set in a listed, early 20th century train station, remembering the Russian Tsar's visiting the nearby forests for hunting trips when this area was under Russian occupation. As such, the property has gobs and gobs of character & charm. There's rooms available in vintage sleeping train cars, the water tower, the trackers house etc. We had an apartment in the tracker's house, which has so much charm & lovely early 20th century feel. Our hounds really enjoyed the walks in the area and the big space we had in our accommodation. The restaurant is really charming as well, the food was lovely. The location is great - secluded, yet only a 5-10 min drive to all the sights in Bialowieza. We really enjoyed our stay.

LuxembourgWe stayed in the upper apartment in the water tower - we didn't like the lack of physical (and acoustic) separation of the room from the bathroom. Also, be mindful that you will need to walk a long and steep flight of stairs to reach the room (and carry your luggage).
Divine breakfasts - absolutely the best breakfast ever, great variety and homemade food. Great restaurant and location.

GermanyVery poor breakfast. For that price, I'd expect more choice. Fresh juice is also almost a standard these days. It is the standard of a small 3 star hotel - disappointing. The bed was very hard, which some poeple might like - I did not. What is unacceptable though is the bedding - very old, heavy and simply unpleasant.
Location is perfect. The object is authentic and as romantic as it gets.
