How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The beds were very uncomfortable. The mattresses badly need to be replaced. When I was lying down I could feel the springs digging into to me. It was extremely uncomfortable. If the mattress were replaced with decant new ones I would give this accommodation a 10 rating.
The location was excellent..just a two minute walk into the beautiful old town square. The apartment was large, spacious and bright. It had 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a well equipped kitchen, a lovely living area with a large sofa bed and a balcony.

Noise from the nightclub/bar until 3am. Kitchen units poorly fitted with doors not shutting properly.
Good location in the centre of the city 2 minute walk to the square. Roomy with 6 beds and 2 bathrooms. Balcony.

The beds could be more comfortable. Some beds had damaged slats. There was dust on the kitchen hood. There was dirt under the beds and in the bathroom.

Natural light in the bedrooms due to lack of curtains caused minor disruption in sleep. General cleanliness could be better but nothing drastic.
Location was very good, communication with owner was reliable. Easily accessible. Moderate flexibility as able to change dates due to airliner cancellation.

The shower drain was clogged and there was no toilet paper when we arrived.
Location is fantastic, and the apartment was quite suitable for a party of 5. Spacious and comfortable.

It was quite cold in the apartments upon arrival and even the heating couldnt heat the apartment enough during our stay.
The apartments were nice, spacious. Comfy. Kitchen utensils enough for cooking. Got the keys from the key box, no problem.

Very noisy at night . There was no common area to sit in our apartment . If there is a power failure (which there was ) there is no way of entering the building. I had to wait at McDonald’s for someone in our apartment to wake and let me in

The noise at nighttime. And having to check out at 10-am was not good. Hanging around all day as flight was evening. It's my 3rd time staying. But unfortunately my last because of this.

Lack of hot water availability - although they offered us another room to shower in on 2nd morning, so was provided a solution. No blind on only window in appartment - just made it really bright early in the morning when would have preferred to sleep in a little longer. door lock barrel kept slipping, meaning it was quite difficult to open and lock. radiators never got beyond 'a bit warm' even when on top heat from day one. Crazy sensor of the entrancehall light through late evening meant it kept flicking on and off without warning - fortunately it stopped by midnight, but it did this intermittantly through our stay.
lots of communication from the host. easy to access. Understanding and hospitable manager. Did all they could to rectify an issue beyond their control.
