We could hear the people above us quite clearly (including snoring at night)

Location was great. Although there were lots of tourists walking about it felt like there were many locals living and laughing in the neighbourhood. And hanging their laundry out to dry. There was a clothesline outside the window where we stayed too (but it was raining) When closed, The windows kept the outside noise outside. The apartment was small but had everything we needed We also appreciated the stove top espresso maker. Very handy

The owner arrived 15 minutes late, which is not great when you're tired, hot, and just want to sit somewhere comfy! It would have been fine if there had been an apology. As 2 friends travelling on a city break we had requested an apartment with twin beds. This request had been repeated twice, 5 months in advance, and we still had a double bed. After half an hour of debate it was agreed that we could have a different apartment the following day and we did move. Again, just not what you want when you arrive!! Did not appreciate the request for a private email rather than a review if the review was anything other than outstanding.

There was good communication on how to find the apartment, help with finding travel cards/lockers for suitcases at the train station etc...which was really helpful. Great location and fantastic sound proofing!

The flush toilet didn’t work properly and I ask to be fixed but it wasn't, despite was promised. We had just one fork in the kitchen and we didn't have any bottle opener. Just on Sunday we asked one from the other apartment. I used the iron once because I needed it and the water came out from the back. It is a shame because they are very small things & they could be must better. Lots of noise from the apartment above! 😞

I like the location of the apartment and people around were so kind to us. We had lots of restaurants around the area and Fado every night! Ruth welcomed us very well and the apartment decoration is nice. The bed was very comfy 🥰

The lack of a safe deposit for keys for late arrivals. My flight was delayed and although I informed the facility manager and kept updating her till I finally arrived, they still charged me an additional €40 for a late arrival which i feel is a rip-off especially when I informed them about my flight challenges. There is also no baggage storage when you check out. On the whole, I feel the facility is the most inconsiderate as compared to the several Booking.com facilities I have stayed in. The TV had only 1 channel working. The plastic cups are all broken and must be replaced, and the shower curtain rail keeps coming off with the least contact.

A perfectly located apartment! Smack in the middle of Alfama, close to many restaurants and public transport. Staff was extremely nice and helpful. Check-in went easy, with clear instructions beforehand and a friendly welcome. A recommended accomodation!

It can be very noisy. You can hear every sound from the street, the entry door, people walking up the stairs, the people in the above apartment walking, talking etc. And of course in June, it is super noisy due to all the celebrations and people partying and screaming until about 4AM. Plus, a small detail, it would’ve been nice if the towel rack was stuck to the wall correctly.

The staff is very nice and welcoming. It is located nicely in Alfama (in June, right between all the festivities) and easy to find. You can walk around Alfama, walk to the water and easily find your way to the city center of Lisboa. It has everything you need with a small kitchen and bathroom. Plus, the airconditioning and wifi both worked great.

It's not so much a downside, but the bathroom is small and some elements are a little "tired" and could be updated. I didn't mind but might be good to know if you are especially particular about that kind of thing.

A really sweet apartment in the heart of Alfama, and way easier to find than I had expected! Maybe I was lucky with the noise, but I didn't have any problems. After the restaurants closed outside, it was so quiet at night - almost like being in the countryside...

Noise - the host kindly explained the age of the building and how we would be able to hear everything - we could! Shower and talking above us (we were in the first flat) Noise wasn't so bad in the night, only rolling of suitcases.

The facilities were good, washing machine, towels etc Location was great if you're after authentic Portugal street in the heart of the old part of Lisbon - very pretty! Close to lots of shops and taverns and the harbour. Plenty of bus links to get further into Lisbon too. Ginji (Portuguese local drink) lady located at the other side of the street if you want to try.

Door would not open. We had to ask people to help us. There was no toilet paper. After requesting, we still did not get. I had to complain again and then someone brought at night. Very noisy at night and could not sleep. There were bugs in the washroom and kitchen which we used only for tea

The shower in particular was abysmal. People can catch colds the way the hot water randomly just shuts off and leaves you standing there, wet and freezing, especially in the winter time and especially after already walking through rain during the day. The key for the front door also got stuck and only worked maybe 50% of the time. We only had one towel for two people for a third of our stay and then when we asked for extra hand towels (because one of us needed to use the ones we had as a makeshift replacement towel) the request was ignored. The deeply middling overall rating is accurate. We won't be staying here again.
