The place was great, a group of 14, we got there late, and the host opened up the kitchen. breakfast was great also. The host was friendly and verry accommodating.

Breakfast was 20+ minutes late, almost at 9 AM. Almost nobody speaks English.

Breakfast was huge with loads of cold cuts and local cheeses. Rooms are demodè but functional, with good shower and Wi-Fi. The waitress who lived in Switzerland was very kind with us. Insane view from the window.

They Allowed Midnight check-in plus they served us food in the middle of the night. the location and receptionist are amazing I would love to stay there again.

Room was basic, furniture is nothing to speak of but the overall comfort and efficiency of the property is outstanding.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. For the location, there are not many options and this was perfect for short duration stays especially with the restaurant being on site.

Nothing. Everything was as expected. Considering the price, the hotel has exceeded our expectations.

Brilliant location, spacious room with a balcony, good prices, amazing food (make it sure you try salmon and cod!). Great breakfast. Air conditioner in the room. Simple hotel, such a feeling like you are back to 80's/90's. Loved it! Amazing views to the mountains from the restaurant. Friendly staff, not speaking a single word in English, but that wasn't a problem for us.

There could have been a table to work on with laptop, but there was a common sitting area outside the room that had sofas or one could sit at tables in the entry area or restaurant, so it wasn’t an issue for us.

Breathtaking views, extremely friendly hosts. Restaurant was excellent. The room was comfortable and a particularly good deal for the price. We liked the small balcony and also the curtains were excellent in making room nice and dark against the morning light

This hostel is located in a very quiet area in Serra da Estrela, where you can enjoy the silence and nature. They also have a bar, so it's not a problem there's no groceries around. The breakfast was amazing and the serra da estrela cheese is super!

Very welcoming feeling. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent with local produce and large portions. The dinner price was a good surprise given the location, same as a standard city lunch menu. Great host too, ofered to store the motorbikes in the hotel foyer.

This is a very nice place to stay for visiting Serra da Estrela Natural, not far from Piódão. A great room, very clean. Very friendly hosts, good food and wine in the restaurant.

The lodge is located on top of the mountain. It is simple, managed by a family, and well maintained and clean. They have a restaurant which serves good food. For people looking for a simple and clean place, it is the perfect place.

Hotel: very steep stairs. Room: weak lighting: Bathroom is not heated. If it's cold outside keep the door of the bathroom open to allow warm air from the room enter to the bathroom.

It was our second stay in the hotel and it proved its strong points: great location, great views, outstanding food and excellent price to quality ratio. Location: in a middle of nowhere, at a pass between Serra da Estrela and Serra do Açor. A good base for visiting Aldeias do Xisto (Schist Villages), what we did last time, or a Historic Village Piódão, what we did this time. Hotel: The ground level is occupied by a bar and a restaurant, rooms are located at the two levels upstairs. You may also buy local specials (meet and cheese) at the hotel. Amazing views for mountains, valleys and distant villages around. Restaurant serves very good dinner. Be careful when order, the normal dish is a quantity for two persons. Room: basic, rather small (as described), but has everything you need after all day of walking in the mountains. electric sockets: one available in the bathroom and one in the room (but not near the bed). Heating by a/c worked well. Bed: large and comfortable. Bathroom: middle in size, equipped with a shower. Shower is large enough and has a basket hung on the wall where you can put your toiletries. A windowsill near the wash basin may be used as a shelf for your toiletries as well. Breakfast: amazing, very tasty, extensive selection of different food including local specials. Impossible to eat everything. The only weak point is lack of vegetables (but you generally can’t expect vegetables for a breakfast in Portugal). Mobile network: good signal Parking: Plenty of space front of the hotel. Free.

it's the second time that we stay in this place, it's not near nothing and also near everything, its a crossroad hotel, nice restaurant, snooker table, nice Medronho ;), calm place, nice bedrooms... proper for riders who are crusing the country

The place is not as touristic as Lisbon or Porto so we came not prepared to 'Portuguese only' conversation :) We managed to understand each other though, it wasn't a big issue. There was no hairdryer in the room.

The breakfast was exceptional, we couldn't eat even half of what was offered. The room was clean, with nice view of the hills.
