Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaWe were cold in our room, and there was no heat available. I’d hoped for some non-dairy milk for our tea, coffee and cereal at breakfast. Thank you for finding us some almond milk from your other hotel one morning.

SloveniaIt was low season, so property was not heated properly. They tried hard to make it as good as possible. They put extra heating in the room so it was acceptable.
It’s lovely and charming as the name suggests. Also there is an outdoor pool that was opened so I could use it for cold bath. This was a great plus. Breakfast was okay.

Good sized room and facilities, the pool would’ve been nice to use but we went in December!

United KingdomThe bottom 2 steps are uneven in the attic - good to know if you have mobility difficulties/problems with balance - it would be easy to misjudge and trip. There is no extractor in the bathroom - gets quite damp The relative humidity whilst we were there (October) was VERY high and it rained a lot - our clothes were difficult to dry and dry things felt wet. Because of this there were moments I was quite cold and it was difficult to warm up properly.
Breakfast was a delicious start to every day (stayed 5 nights), we loved the inclusion of local pastries. The staff were always friendly and helpful, we were impressed with their multilingual skills. We observed them being really helpful too with other travellers including those with small children and an older couple with mobility difficulties. The dining room is up a flight of stairs and he couldn't access it so they kindly arranged a breakfast to be taken to his room. Our room was cleaned and made up every day. We stayed in the 'attic' which had its own entrance and was on 2 levels. Our older teenage son took the bed downstairs and liked having his own space. It was useful to have 2 sinks (one is a free standing unit in the downstairs) to help cope with three people. We didn't make use of the microwave but it would be helpful for a longer stay. A hint for future travellers - some attractions are super busy but Sunday morning everything was quiet - if you're desperate to do something specific try that time. We wanted to do the initiation well but the line was 2 hours long on the Thursday, I wish we'd gone back on the Sunday. Also we found you can only buy bus tickets on the bus with cash, we couldn't get signal enough to do it online when stuck at Pena Palace so had to walk down which is super steep and hard on the knees, alhough walking up was fine - slowly! We also found a great view point about 5 mins walk from Charm Inn - if you cross the road and take a right at an angle from the road, go up a cobbled staircase and you get to a small park with a bench - lovely spot for a rest. We ate well at Nau Palatina and enjoyed bar snacks and drinks at Tasco do Strauss which are a couple of minutes away.

GermanyThe location of the hotel is not the best, but you can get there by car. It is somewhat removed from the tourist attractions and parking the car can be complicated because the hotel is located in a quite rugged place, with ups and downs and narrow streets. We had to wait over an hour for the person in charge of the reception to arrive. There was no one to attend to us. After finding a phone number and communicating, we had to wait for a person to arrive to check in.
It is an old house but well decorated with an old but beautiful style. The place is very quiet. The rooms are on the upper floor. Within a kilometer walk, there are small restaurants, some of them with good service and good food.

United States of AmericaIt's just part with the environment...A bit musty in closets. It rained and I found it hard to dry my clothes.. I traveled very light. A dehumidifier and a service to maybe wash and dry a small load of wash for travelers would be helpful. $10 euro for 5 pieces of clothing??
Rustic old world charm! Kind staff...very cool place. Really nice breakfast Nice outdoor patio by pool. Wonderful Portuguese wine for your room to purchase. Very private... $5 uber ride to Sintra. You can walk it. If your unaccustomed to the road and narrow dark walkways at night it was close and safer to take an uber. There's also a nice hike you can pick up in front of the Inn... Thanks, Norberto

ThailandNo one answered the phone and I couldn't get to my room to check in as scheduled. The location is not easy to find and a long walk from town. The door to my balcony was rotting away and falling off the hinges, not secure at all.
The breakfast room is gorgeous.
