Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

PortugalLate at night, some other guests smoked in their rooms/hallway. This activated the fire alarm which was very loud and ran for almost 1 hour. This was very frustrating since there was no staff on site and available remotely to help us.
Location and cleanliness. Also, the staff put some free drinks and coffee for us before our arrival.

AustriaThe two single beds were old and worn out (literally sunken in the middle) and very uncomfortable. They really shouldn't be used in any kind of paid accommodation. The hosts apologised but there was no replacement or other room available (or offered). There was a strong smell from the drains in the bathroom any time you used the sink or shower. The showerhead was also worn out. The walls are very thin - could hear every word from the guests next door.
Lovely renovated old building in a nice area (edge of Bonfim), ten minutes walk from Sao Bento/Ponte Luís but on a quiet street. Good options for food close by. The room was mostly nice but there were some issues. The keyless door codes worked well and the host/manager responded quickly to messages. There was a fridge and microwave and a Nespresso machine, and a couple of beers, milk, water, and coffee pods supplied on arrival. Netflix, Prime, etc. on TV. Wifi was ok but not really strong enough for streaming.

AustraliaUnfortunately, our check in experience was pretty bad. There are two entrances, but we were unaware of that. Once inside our chosen entrance, after quite a long time of knocking etc. the woman inside had no english. There was also another traveller in the same position as ourselves. She made several phone calls and eventually it was all sorted but it was messy.
Very good location, comfy bed, good bathroom, smallish room but comfortable.

AustraliaWould be good to have one more chair insted of armchair. Chairs and table outside were not cleaned, so couldnt use them. Shower is very small and water runs from shower curtain to the floor. It doesnt dry itself and there is no mop to collect the water.
Location is good. Overall it is a comfortable apartment for two. Good bakery and two small supermarkets nearby.

ItalyThe bathroom is very small. In order to access to the bathroom you have to pass through the first room, this could be very annoying. Moreover, any extra request we have done, we were replied with request for money by the host. I make 2 examples: 1- since the shower is very small, it is very easy that the floor of the bathroom get very wet and it is very annoying to have constant free water. We required for an extra towel or carpet to mop and dry the floor but the host asked for extra money for it. 2 - we left the apartment on time but we asked to keep the luggage for 2 or 3 hours somewhere in the building, in a storage room. The host replied that we could extend the checkout for extra 27 euro (definitely crazy).
The location is perfect, the room was clean, the access is easy, quick reply

LithuaniaI was very disappointed because: 1. It is very COLD in the room and there is no heating. The wall mounted radiator-heater did not work (see photo below) and the air-conditioner only cools and does not heat even after pressing 30c on the remote control. 2. Cold in the room and humidity everywhere cause the mold. There is water on the windows because there is no heating, and there is mold on the walls (see photo below). 3. Some places are not clean. The floor is not clean because the socks turn black after 5 minutes of walking. Shower curtains are not clean and with mold (see photo below), you can easily get any kind of infection. Dust due to renovation of neighboring rooms. 4. I was not informed about the renovation process of neighboring rooms. Unpleasant view in all building and corridors (see photo below). During renovation all building shoud be closed and rooms not rented, or in this case rented at a very low price. It was annoying that the water stopped during the shower and I wasn't even informed about it in advance. 5. An additional fee is payable for any extra service. It's ok if you stay 1/2/3 nights and need extra. But if you stay for 6 nights, it is not acceptable if you have to pay for towels change - i already pay full price everyday!!! In that case, it is better to stay in a hotel than this one “apartment”.
Location - Center, that part of the center where it is very calm/quiet at night. Clean bed linen, towels and kitchen equipment. But…

Facilities, location and communication. I booked this for my son and his friends and yes there was a bit of an issue with initial access but the property team were faultless. They responded to every message quickly and sorted the problem. We would have no problem recommending this place.

New ZealandDidn't know where my room was, had to do the internet connection to hear the door unlock on arrival. Rooms need some TLC (from the pictures the rooms look better), luckily there were a few towels as they didn't dry very well. You could hear people in the above apartments and stairways. I always travel with ear plugs and needed those to not be woken up by people coming in late.
Location was great, quiet and safe area. Bed was comfy, had all I needed in the kitchen. Big space which was nice to come back to as well.

United States of AmericaDidn’t think front desk was important till we stayed here. Ran out of toilet paper, towels smelled bad, front door lock didn’t work one day (a bunch of us couldn’t get in and we had to wait for someone to come out), excessive thumping from upstairs even at 1:30 AM, all could have been resolved quickly with a front desk. Tried calling the number supplied when we were locked out but the call would not go through. Also drains were very slow and the extremely small shower pan would fill up quickly. Some walls had humidity damage with mold. Shower curtain kept blowing into shower with slimy bottom.
The layout was great with a nice patio, close to bakery, restaurants, bakery. Short walk to old town and sights.Apartment supplied a large variety of beverages including beer.

UkraineOne of the reasons why I opted for this place was that in the photos of the rooms there were radiators of the central heating, which made me believe that it would be warm inside. However, I was far from right. So for the the first two days, the heating system did not work, nor did the air conditioning. And these were totally awful due to crazy humidity and cold which go hand-in-hand in Portugal in winter. Although, the local staff were at the venue all the time and knew about the issue, they would not turn the heating on. After my numerous complaints to both the local staff and the client service they brought us portable electric radiators. I don't know why we had to suffer for 2,5 days in order to finally get them, but it was totally miserable to stay inside before we had them. Only on the third day of our stay the central heating was turned on, which made all the change in the world to us. The apartment is very humid - there would be drops of water on the inside of the window frames of all the windows all day long. There's no way a piece of clothing - no matter how small it is- can dry out if the central heating is off or if there are no electric radiators around. Our towels would remain damp several days in a row until there was some source of heating. By the way, there was no cleaning throughout our stay and we had to ask for cleaning cloth and broom as they were not in the apartment. No changing of towels or additional toilet paper was suggested by the staff at any time of our 6-days stay. The kitchenette has a very bare minimum of cookware. Don't expect to find there any salt or pepper, or a coffee machine. All knives but one are butter knives, which means that you will have to use one and the same knife for every product which is harder than a warm butter. The fridge is extremely tiny. I would expect a different approach in terms of food storage for an apartment which can sleep up to 5 people.
The place is very nicely located off the noisy downtown yet within a walkable distance to main attractions. The neighborhood seemed quiet. Several cafes and grocery shops are located in less than 2 min walking distance. Both the local staff and the Olala client service are easily reachable and fast to respond. The WiFi was fast and reliable.

Spain1. The air conditioner was the reason why we chose this apartment, but it didn’t work and no one told us. We found it when we went back at night and we told them that there was a problem. At first we thought that must be some technical issues so we ask them for help no one in the reception at about 8 o’clock. We sent the message someone told me how to use the controller correctly one hour passed it still was very cold. Then they told me the AD couldn’t work and they would open the central heater. Ok fine the heater was also cold until i slept with down coat at 1:00 am. We had a indoor camping. We just thought it was so ridiculous. At late night they sent a heater to us which helped us not to get freezing. 2. all the bedclothes with diferente shape of yellow stains. 3. the bath space is so small like 75 x 75 and the curtain door with yellow things will kept flowing to your body when you take shower. 4. the rare sound from the second floor at late night and another rare one from nowhere.
The minibar. The useless garden. And two sinks that you can use at the same time when you accommodate with others.
