Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

PortugalSofa bed in the living room needed replacement. Jacuzzi bathtub needs a shower partner, for the sake of practicality.
Great location and great facilities for a retreat of city life. Old Alentejo housing rebuilt with good kitchen appliances (maybe some need renewal but they are nonetheless good overall). Good daily cleaning service available. Comfortable beds, good linen and towels. Small but cozy outside semiprivate area for each room. Nice infinity pool with beautiful river views. Kids pool available. Sports apparel available (badminton, soft archery). Electric car charging spot.

GermanyThe hotel facilities have certainly seen better times and would benefit from an update.
This hotel is a special place. It’s located in an old olive grove with hundreds of very old trees. The property is designed very well following old moorish designs. The breakfast was delicious. The owner, a French painter showed us around the old buildings of the olive mill and the mansions. We also enjoyed the large pool.

IrelandWalks around the extensive grounds could be better marked out.
The infinity pool is very nice with amazing views of the river valley and surrounding hills. Nit very big and can be easily dominated by two families of four. Poolside furniture is Ikea wooden, which may be in keeping with the eco ethic but is maintenance intensive and looks a bit weathered.

SwitzerlandThe property is a bit far away from the city center, we had to use a taxi to get to the city for dinner. Also, we were hoping to get to jacuzzi upon our arrival, but it was out of order.
Beautiful location, very diverse breakfast. Our room was simply lovely and we could arrange a massage after long day hiking at the hotel's spa for the reasonable value.

FranceThe quinta itself is amazing, very well located in the middle of nature and not too far from the town. The breakfast is generous and very nice, staff is very friendly. The only and major downside for us is that off season the jacuzzi and sauna are out of service, however it was not mentioned anywhere which really disappointed us because we were looking for an hotel with these equipments since we knew it would be raining all weekend and it wasn’t mention anywhere when we booked it. Hopefully the fact that it’s in the middle of the nature, with animals and not so far from town made our stay super nice.

Netherlands- Basically there is only one BIG negative thing which has influenced this review in a negatieve way. I had booked the room and stated my preference for a walk in shower. I received no response to that. However, when I checked in I was told I needed to pay a supplement of €25 per night for a room with a walk in shower. Frankly, I was furious to be put in this position and having no choice but to pay the extra amount. The accommodation was far from full. Why could they not have 'upgraded' me without the extra charge. It doesn't cost them more, and they would have had a very happy client. Now they have a very unhappy client who will never return there and never reccomend it to other travelers. - the breakfast was o.k. but I really would have appreciated eggs, and for the price I was paying, I think that is not too much to ask. - besides breakfast there is no food or drink available.
- large room - walk in shower - nearby free parking - very comfortable bed - microwave to heat my own meals and also a fridge in the room. - lovely view from the room, and nice patio area - lovely rural location - a remote control with the room key to open the property gate

United KingdomI think for the price and my previous experience of similar properties there are a few things which let it down, for example no complimentary bottle of water, only two coffee capsules for two adults staying 2 nights. I think this is little mean. Even at breakfast you are limited to one espresso per person. The apartment comes with a kitchen yet it provides no condiments - no salt no pepper not even kitchen paper. The large terrace would benefit from having sun loungers. There is no where comfortable to sit. For that you have to go to the pool area. Luckily we had our own sun chairs. For me this lets down the experience. Portugal has lots of similar beautiful places to stay. and I’ve been lucky to stay in a lot of them. this is why I don’t think this apartment compares well with other offers. I also think the check in time of 4 is too late and check out at 11. It kind of makes you feel hurried. We stayed two nights so not such an issue but still I think 4 check in is unreasonable. The issues I raise can be easily addressed and not expensive but would make a huge difference.
we stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment with a fabulous terrace and BBQ. views are stunning.

Reception girl was very helpful. Did arrange dinner reservation in town nearby as recoms for the beaches. Hotels pool area offers nice view into river valley. Room facilities are fresh and solid. Design is tasty. Breakfast wasn't vast of choices, but included pancakes and some sweets. As it is agro place, we could see sheep and shepherd morning ritual just in front of the pool area.

GermanyJust small things: they provide water cooker and tea, and a coffee maschine in the room - but you need to buy the coffee seperatly. The breakfast was tasty, but some eggs would have been nice. In some parts it seems Corona / missing customers took its toll. But that seems to be the case in many places in Portugal.
It is a beautiful rural establishment with a nice view over the river and a friendly staff. The location was perfect for us, as Vilanova is a little spread out, the location was perfect for us as everywhere we wanted to go was close (but you need a car in that area, anyways). The infinity pool/pool area is great, and an additional highlight is that breakfast is served there with a great view.
