Lots of animals around: goats, dogs, horses, peacocks. The dogs will visit your room at breakfast time if you invite them in. The breakfasts were outstanding!

An idyllic setting to rest, relax, and restore. We stayed here 2 nights while walking the Rota Vicentina as a break from our walk. A place to sink in and enjoy all the sites and sounds. Cats, dogs, horses, and a view of the ocean from a private deck (with table and chairs). Breakfast is served at a pre-arranged time to your door and is of high quality. Breakfast included breads, cheeses, meats, fresh fruit, yogurt, and a homemade bakes treat. Hosts are welcoming and accommodating. We arrived at noon after a rainy walk and they made efforts to get our room ready so we could check in (significantly early). We really enjoyed our stay. Just a note that restaurants are about a 10-15 minute walk away.

The only thing I can say, because everything else was great, is that the villa had a musty smell.

This is a lovely place to stay with a wonderful view of the Atlantic Ocean from the back door. The villa is clean and great for 3-4 people. Outdoor furniture is perfect for enjoying the view and landscape. Breakfast was croissants, rolls, sweet treat, cheeses and meats, yogurt, coffee/tea-generous and fresh. There is an enclosed fireplace with wood in the living room which is a wonderful touch. The hosts are lovely, so friendly and helpful. The animals are very friendly and gladly visit. The other animals (goats, horses, chickens + peacocks) are fun to visit. This is an out-of-town gem; I would definitely stay here again.

everything was perfect :)

We really loved to stay in Herdade Monte do Sol . We stayed for three weeks ! The apartment is big, the view is exceptional. Very calm and quiet, the air is fresh and amazing. In the night you hear the sound of frogs , so lovely. There are several peackocks, we so enjoyed their beauty.... We love birds, and so it was lovely for us to hear the birds twittering and singing all day long. It was wintertime when we stayed here ( February) we were surprised to see how lush green was the whole place , we went for walks on the poperty, it is big ! and beautiful ! there were flowers everywhere, and flowering trees ! Hens and roosters , very healthy looking. Horses, goats , friendly dogs and cats. ( they did not come into the house , if you did not want them to ) The host family is very very friendly, they helped us with everything. ( for instance Sofia and Daniela arranged for a massage therapist, when one of us hurt their back. ) Sofia even offered to wash our laundry, very much appreciated! Her partner ( I cant spell his name) gave us very good Portuguese wine to try... Everyone was very caring. Thank you so much ! We were served beautiful and rich breakfast to our apartment every morning. The apartment was cleaned every day ! Fresh towels and bedding every few days.... Cleaner ladies very friendly and unintruive too.. And the bed is comfortable ( very important for me ) When my daughter's children came to visit us, they always made a lot of noise, but they were completely accepted. It made our stay so relaxed . Thank you again ! I really really loved the view ... Even on the days when it was rainy and windy and cold . the view was so beautiful .... Amazing sunsets to watch ! I would definitely recommend this beautiful place to everyone. And if we come back to this area, we will surely stay here again.

We loved the place.

The property is located near Aljezur, with a stunning sea view. The rooms are beautifully presented and very clean. We went in winter and the fire was ready for us to light it come evening - which we did. The place felt very private, a real getaway. The owner was very friendly and personable. We felt truly welcome. Finally, we enjoyed the company of various pets. They came and checked us out on our terrace and sat with us for a while.

The fake flowers/plants! Everything else decor wise was perfect, they weren't needed.

The location was fabulous - you felt as if you were miles from anywhere with fantastic views, but in fact it was a 15 minute walk to restuarants and bars and 40 minutes walk to Arrifana with more cafes and a lovely beach. The breakfast provided each day was superb. Everyone who interacted with us from the hotel was really kind and helpful.

There was not a thing wrong.

Loved the breakfast being served to our room, so we could enjoy the view and eat on the terrace. We loved all the animals, especially the peacocks that came to the terrace to wake us!

The mosquitos at night! Maybe some nets in the windows could help.

Everything. :) The hosts, the property, the pool and the view. The fact they have farm animals and pets makes it’s a plus for the children. Our family have been here 3 times and we enjoy every time.
