Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IndonesiaIt's not that I didn't like it but it was just a bit tricky if I wanted to charge powerbank and phone at the same time and turn on the lamp on my bed because the lamp uses one from two sockets available. In the other hostels that I stayed, the lamp is built in and not using the available sockets.
The soundproof room and location. The hostel is inside the train station so you don't have to drag your bag going uphill. You have different options for public transportation with walking distance, e.g. early morning bus to the airport, different metro stations. You have to bring your own padlock or they do provide it with a fee.

United States of AmericaWhile the hostel's location and its vibrant social atmosphere are standout features, there's a gentle nudge towards refinement in the accommodations. The design of the bunk beds, which aren't fully enclosed, might be a bit quirky, leading to the possibility of a less than perfect sleep if you move a lot. Also, the provision for personal storage spaces for those little necessities like phones and glasses could be a tad more thoughtful. These points, while minor, are worth noting for the complete comfort of all guests.
Located directly within Lisbon's vibrant Rossio train station, this hostel stands out for its exceptional accessibility. It takes literally just a two-minute walk to the train platforms from your bed, yes, l mean it; the hostel's proximity to a major transportation hub means guests have easy access to a plethora of metro, bus, and tram lines through the nearby plaza. For those eager to explore Sintra or any other part of the city, the convenience is simply unmatched. The communal areas of the hostel evoke the charm of a spacious greenhouse, filled with a lush, green ambiance that invites relaxation and social interaction. During my stay, I was drawn into enriching conversations with travelers from across the globe, including Australia, Switzerland, Germany, and the US. This welcoming space harks back to the essence of travel, allowing for the exchange of stories and ideas in a warm, communal setting..

GreeceThe only reason I put 8/10 is because I didn't find the hostel really organized for solo travelers like I expected. They organize things like dinners and karaoke nights. From the reviews I had read I was expecting a really friendly atmosphere with lots of activities throughout the day.
Ι was spent 7 days to this hostel. The location is great in the center of the city. Near to everything from there somebody can take train for Sintra. It is near to all the bars, night clubs and also pigo doce the local supermarket it is 350 meter far. Also the hostel was clean, the bedrooms were big and comfortable.

BrazilNo negative points.
Super nice place, clean, well appointed and decorated. I thank all the staff for providing a great stay, from the nicest Portuguese people in Portugal to other staff from other parts of the world. Most of the time, it felt like I was at some friend's house. Recommended and hope to return again. If you speak English you can have an incredible experience with the other guests too. Even in mixed rooms, there was respect among guests at all times. Great location, super close to the subway (station Restauradores) and bus stop, with several restaurants, shops, bars, squares, shopping malls, etc. very close

SwitzerlandIt was impossible to open/close the room doors quietly, due to the beeping sounds of the code lock and the heavy latch. Not great when people are coming home at all times of the night. :D
Easygoing and very helpful and kind staff, always available to help people out at any time of day. Many social events are hosted by the hostel(s) daily. The volunteers were also very kind and made everyone's stay more worthwhile. The location is inside the train station, which is perfect for a day trip to Sintra or Caiscais. As always, it was easy to make friends with other travelers. I enjoyed my stay so much I came back a week later!

United States of AmericaThey don't have luggage racks, so your stuff is on the floor. Otherwise, nothing else could be any better. They've got it down!
Breakfast was lots of European and Portugese flavor. Plenty of time to eat and linger. Location just doesn't get any better. rooms were very comfortable and clean and big enough. We walked everywhere. The staff is aproachable, friendly and extremely knowledgable. You will meet people from all over the world therejust traveling around. They will do your laundry for 7 euros and the breakfast is all you can eat for 8 euros, we had a huge smart TV in our room. There are plants and artwork all over the place and many sofas. They offer free internet and I saw some board games and a pool table. Very comfortable, affordable and clean! I would stay there again!!

CanadaHostels, there are 2 business models. One is, the revenue per square meter model. The other is ambience and comfort model. This hostel is the second one: comfort, ambience, nice staff, and most of all, lots of space in the dorm to walk around and feel not cramped. It's a good place.

I loved the abundance of plants in the lobby — it made the place feel so homely and cosy. The mattress was probably one of the most comfortable mattresses I’ve ever slept on in a hostel. And the staff were so welcoming, so friendly and so hospitable. I would consider them my new friends for sure. I miss this place so much and I’ll definitely be back!

Czech RepublicI liked the location and the cozy vibes. The whole relax zone and kitchen was super nice. What I really liked is that the hostel does a lot of activities to bring people together and to have fun. Although I didn’t participate in any of them, they all seemed to be really cool! The rooms were great, the beds comfortable and every bad has its sockets and a lamp, and curtains. The bathroom and WC were cleaned every day and surprisingly never busy. I really liked the sustainable approach of the hostel. The staff were so friendly! If I’m ever back in Lisbon, I’m definitely staying here again.
