To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

CanadaIt needs a deep cleaning. Being located near the sea and in an older building there is a mold buildup along the ceiling protruding into both the living room and bedroom and along the wall. The ceilings are at least 12 feet high. It’s not something that can be done between quick turnarounds. The mold needs to be removed and the rooms repainted before the start of the busy tourist season.

SwedenThe room has issues with humidity. Clothing feels damp, even when hung in the closet. The bathroom tiles and the ceilings of the hotel room show damage from humidity and moisture.
The location of the hotel was incredible. You open the front door and are instantly greeted by the Douro. We liked the layout of the apartment - a good kitchenette, living room, bathroom, and bedroom. There was no staff to meet on-site, but the hotel was great at communicating important information through Booking.com without us having to reach out with any questions. Will definitely book this again!

FranceMore blankets or duvets for the chilly weather, but the electric wall-mounted heaters worked. Parents of children should be aware that the windows and balcony doors are opened by swing handles and have no locks.
Great location. Many of the sights were within easy walking distance. Excellent View of the Douro River from the second floor apartment.

United States of AmericaWe were traveling and did not have good access to email or wi-fi. I requested in advance information on how to access the property and did not receive the information I was looking for. The lack of information made check-in more difficult than it should have been.
We stayed at two properties by LovelyStay during a 9-day trip to Portugal. This was the second of two properties we stayed at during our trip. Loved the location and especially the view of the river and Vila Nova de Gaia. LovelyStay actively communicates with you through the booking.com app and responds to questions or concerns pretty quickly. We arrived to find a bottle of wine and some snacks awaiting us--I'm not sure if that is standard practice or due to some problems we experienced during our first stay at a LovelyStay property in Lisbon.

CanadaSofa bed isn’t very comfortable and doesn’t fold up during the day. The room felt chilly even with the heat on. The apartment felt clean but also very “lived in” (scuffs on the walls, etc.). But this place is all about the location.

SloveniaOk for a couple, but bit small of more people and you need sofa bed for sleeping. Sofa bed suitable for small kids, not very comfortable for adults. Main bed good, as well as the pillows and blankets. More glasses in app would be good.

AustraliaThe limited side view which could only be seen when standing and looking out. I especially request the front view a couple of times also when booking. Only one source of soap at the apartment.
We were initially disappointed the view was very limited but got used to not having much. It did not look as good as the photos but was comfortable and we were able to cook which was great as with travelling we get tired of eating out. The bed was very comfortable.

Loved the location and the flat was very clean and comfortable - great bed and pillows! Was fabulous to be so near the river and good restaurants. Appreciated the bottle of local wine that was left for us too.

United KingdomLighting in the hallways was poor making it difficult to see the lock box code numbers. The sink was slow to drain, and the plug did not work. The shutter lock on one of the shutters in the lounge was broken and that meant the shutter had to stay closed. There was a rusted and broken table on the Juliet balcony. These details were reported to the management team.
Wonderful locaction, lovely views, clean and well furnished. Well equipped.
