Our room was cleaned two times a day. We really liked the design of the interior and the idea of it. The location was very nice. The breakfast was delicious, wide variety of food. There were freshly made pancakes and ommletes.

Comfortable rooms with lovely view, very clean and spacious. Great breakfast and pools! The view from the roof bar is great! The staff were incredible! So nice, kind and helpful. We booked a taxi (not from the hotel) that arrived without a baby car seat although we ordered it.. and the hotel loaned us theirs for free, asking the driver to just bring it back afterwards. We were shocked and so grateful for this.

Some of the furniture in the room was worn, which did not fit into a 5-star hotel quality, but there was more that bothered me. I think it has a negative message: when you, as a guest, feel at every step in the hotel, if you do not pay extra besides the 5-star price, you can not 'have the premium experience'. It was impossible to lay beside the pool on sunbeds, only if you paid an extra fee, the "premium experience." And they faced this strange opportunity everywhere, from the check-in desk to the elevators. I felt like a second-grade guest because I was not paying the extra/premium, which is a bit weird when you go to rest and think previously that you found the best opportunity to enjoy luxury in a 5-star hotel. It's at least not polite.

The location of the hotel and the view from the pool is stunning. I also enjoyed the design efforts in the lobby and common space areas. There are enough opportunities to enjoy food and drink in the hotel. The best experience was the Bar on the roof, which is especially recommended if you want to enjoy the sunset with a nice cocktail. The hotel has a beach and a few outdoor pools where you can swim and relax.

We were very pleased with our stay as the hotel was dare I say, the best accomodation I’ve ever stayed in. The bars were amazing as well as the staff, that was exceptionally kind and helpful. I definitely want to come back here someday.:) Also the side ocean view was beautiful.

There is no door in the shower room, and the wall to the bedroom is glass through which everything is visible) it is not very comfortable to take a shower when the whole family is in the room)

The view from the window on the ocean is beautiful. The balcony has comfortable chairs and a table, a good place for evening gatherings.

The Saccharum is a big hotel, with many rooms, yet you'll feel extremely well taken care of. The rooms are beautiful and large, you'll find many pools, including a wonderful rooftop one with many places to sit, read, and relax. There are many bars and restaurants. We were warmly welcomed by the staff, that went the extra mile because it was my wife's birthday. We were offered a bottle of champagne in the room, there were rose petals on the bed, and we had a nice surprise dessert at the end of our meal in the Alambique restaurant. We were given the opportunity to enjoy the hotel amenities after we had checked out for our last day, which was really enjoyable. Everything was perfect from the breakfast to the cocktails in the rooftop bar. Many thanks to all the staff that we had the opportunity to be in contact with. I can only recommend for you to stay at least a few days here. Oh there's an artificial sand beach near the hotel, but I'm not sure you'll want to leave the Saccharum during your stay : )

I might say that the sink at the entrance of the room looks quite strange.

It was my birthday and my husband and the stuff sneaked into room during breakfast and decorated room with balloons, champagne and a piece of cake! That was such a cool surprise! Appreciate that! We had huge room with large balcony and sea view. The restaurant on the second floor was OUTSTANDING! I mean we took 2 sets and that was absolutely unbelievable experience, we have been to a lot of places but this one has formed such a memory! Also the smell at the hotel is charming

If you want a perfect experience in Madeira, the Saccharum hotel is by far the best choice you can make. Located approximately 35 km from Funchal, in Calheta, it offers an amazing view of the Atlantic Ocean and services worthy of its 5 stars. The room is very large, modern, with an enormous and very comfortable bed, and the balcony offers a superb view of the ocean. The entire hotel staff was very nice and professional. We appreciated the fact that our room was arranged twice every day, our towels were changed, and Lucy, the person who took care of our room, left us a small sweet gift on the bed every night. The breakfast is worthy of a 5-star hotel, extremely varied and with very good quality products. If we return to Madeira, Saccharum will definitely be our first choice! I warmly recommend this hotel!

The bathroom set up is not ideal. I would’ve preferred a bit more privacy.

The side ocean view rooms provide a spectacular view of the sea and mountains. The location was very convenient for us as we were visiting family nearby and for walking to the marina. We loved the onsite gym. The breakfast choices were great. The omelette station was my favourite. The WiFi signal was better than we’ve experienced in most hotels.

Very poor cuisine. The kitchen could be better, another chef is needed, because of this many residents eat outside the hotel.
