To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

SpainThe mattress was really uncomfortable. The room wasn’t especially clean. FYI, although when I filtered rooms in booking it was filtered as free parking, obviously it’s not and you need to pay 24 RON per day.
The location is great.

GermanyWe had to improvise a plug for the bathtub, because there is none. Also the plastic concealing the bathtub is falling off. The bed was a little hard, too, but this is just about my personal preference.
The kitchen was cute. It just had a single pan, but was very helpful, we didn't expect to have a kitchen at all. The woman letting us stay was very nice and welcoming. The room was so cute and the view was quite nice. You can see the Brasov sign on the mountain from there.

RomaniaThe room was at the top floor but the noise from the street was still pretty loud. The system that made the windows black out was broken for 2/3 so light shined in the room as sson as the sun rose. It also got very hot during the day and there was no AC. The shower was clogged and the toilet seat was very used. There was a weird faint smell in the bathroom.the bed and pillows were a bit unconfortable. The door to the hallway had a significant space at the bottom so you could hear everything through it very loudly. Overall it was kind of pricy for the experience.
The location was very good and the room was spacious.

RomaniaThe room had a very very small window General problem of the city - finding a parking space raised some problem. Room is in the rustic way renovated but probably some years ago not really like in the pictures, not the most clean property, very old and in bad taste. Also at the end we couldn't pay by card, this should be informed from the beginning of the stay.

United KingdomShower not working. You have to wait about half an hour for the water to go down the drainage. Towels are very old. Parking is a problem,you have to be lucky to have a spot. Is that kind of place where they just make money but never update the facilities.
