Not having the dining options& times explained, we missed having a great dinner there because the staff did not share any information with us or show us the restaurant

Very good breakfast, beautiful homemade bread. A sunny beautiful room. The hotel is perfectly situated in a beautiful square. The northern part of Romania is stunning & interesting.

The staff greeting us should have shown us right away the restaurant so we could have eaten dinner there. It’s known for very good food& we were also not shown where things were so I went downstairs & thought thrv restaurant was there as it was a dining space but the restaurante as upstairs. They did a disservice to the restaurant & chef by not telling us that the kitchen closed at 10;00 We specifically wanted to eat there but thought it had already closed at 8:30 We ended up Having pizza nearby.

The position was perfect & our room was lovely & the goid was very good. We arrived a bit later than thought & wish we were told the kitchen was closing because we missed dinner there. The breakfast was delicious& the dining area was so pretty.

Only a single plug socket in the room beside the bed. No plug socket at the desk to plug in a laptop/phone. A bit inconvenient but not the end of the world!

A very nice boutique Hotel in an excellent location right on the main squrae in Baia Mare old town. Very comfortable room and spotlessly clean. The staff were very cheerful and helpful.

Check out was terrible, due to a surly, argumentative, lazy staff person Claud.  I told the Hotel in a message I would need help with my luggage for check-in and checkout. Check-in was a breeze, the staff was wonderful. I informed them I needed to check out before seven the next morning, and was assured that was OK. However, at 6:40am I could not find anyone. I finally found a sign on the outside door, telling me to call a number - it took 15 minutes for him to come down. Meanwhile I had a train to catch. He arrived at the same time as Andrea came to work. She was wonderful, he was not. He did not want to go get my suitcase, argued with Andrea, made “shut up” hand gestures to me. It took him 20 minutes to bring it downstairs. He slammed the bag on the sidewalk and snarled in Romanian, I know not what. Andrea was wonderful , called a taxi for me, apologized for Claud (not her fault!). She is smart, responsive and completely understands customer service. I’d promote her and fire Claud.

The only improvement needed would be the breakfast. A very small selection that wasn’t great.

A group of 16 of us stayed at Hotel Diafan last weekend for two nights before a wedding and loved every minute! All of us were of the same opinion of how amazing the stay was. The hotel staff were absoutely fantastic. So polite, so welcoming and took care of our every need. Some of us met the owners and they were incredibly lovely people. We had a chat and drink with them in the evening and they were really friendly as were the hotel staff. The hotel itself is really nice. The main entrance area and dining area looked great and was really modern and clean. The rooms were perfect for our needs and the bed was extremely comfortable. Overall, i would 1 million percent recommend this hotel!

Even though the room had been paid for in advance by our friend, we were still required to make a payment at the property. This was attributed to poor communication between the property and booking.com. However, when we pointed out that we had been charged twice, they were able to confirm the discrepancy in less than 1 minute simply by checking their physical registry book. Quite unusual.

Good location, right in the middle of the old town, within walking distance from the parks, muzeums.

The breakfast was all right but the coffee was cold both days.

The hotel is in a very pleasant location in Liberty Square in this quiet part of town. The hotel has a small car park and there is also plenty of parking on the street outside. Check-in was good, and the receptionist was helpful. We booked the apartment, which is actually two rooms without a connecting door that share a bathroom. It is a light and comfortable. The bathroom was good, everything worked and everything was clean. Breakfast was adequate. The free WiFi was good.

An exceptional food! (Very good wines, beers, cocktails, coffee or chocolate specialties or lemonades too.) We tried various dishes and drinks. A real culinary destination! Also, the atmosphere, comfort, history and beauty of the place are absolutely gorgeous!

The attic room inevitably has a low ceiling! The A/C wasn't very effective and the breakfast was poor, apart from the freshly cooked omelettes. Parking was complicated - although it was free as advertised, there are very few spaces for the hotel and even if you got one, you were usually then blocked in by staff or other random vehicles. Staff were helpful, but seemed to spend most of their time talking to friends, on the phone, or just hanging about. Perhaps it's because there weren't many guests, but it seemed to be a general issue during this stay in Romania.
