Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The cosmetics provided were limited, and they were not always replenished unless requested.
Despite the hotel being fully booked and unable to extend for two more days, the staff, especially Ms. Shoruq at the reception, were incredibly kind. This applies to all other staff members, including housekeeping and room service.

The lifts were pretty crowded but you can’t really complain because of how busy the hotel was in Ramadan.
Very close to the Masjid and you could easily reach Masjid in time even 5 minutes before prayer time. The hotel staff was very nice. The room was very spacious and so was the bathroom, both filled with very good amenities. Another thing that was really good about the property was the stores and restaurants near the hotel, you basically had every facility for food at your doorstep.

Close to gate 339, walking around 3 minutes to masjid Nabawi. Underground parking up to 4 level and it's free of charge. Very close to Indonesian restaurants (New Jawa Restaurant), 45 seconds walking distance. If you traveling with car to this hotel, set destination to Kayan International Hotel, so you can easy to find basement parking gate of emaar royal hotel.

1) Saudi Reception supervisor & security guard was very rude with us on 30th March 2024. They weren't nice & friendly with us very racist. They didn't welcome us well. We travelled all the long way and first time in Madina we were bit early in the hotel and 4 years old daughter & my 75 years old mother fell in sleep in the reception area. They came to us wake them up & said you can't sleep in the reception area where all other Saudi people were sleeping in other sofas in the reception area. They didn't say anything to others (Arabic speakers) in my observations. They targeted us and keep monitoring us and tried to give us hard time. I was very disappointed with their rude behavior. Even their talking tone was very harsh. They were not supportive to a new comer in their city who came for Umrah. Not respectful at all. Our checked in date was 30/03/24 unfortunately can't remember their name. 2) We stayed their 30/03/24 to 03/04/24 - got a good room. 3) But we checked in again on 08/04/24 and checked out on 09/04/24 got a bad room. Bathroom tap & shower was continuously licking. Didn't get good room service as well. 4) In addition, they increased the price of our 2nd stay almost doubling up which is not a fair price for the same guests who stayed before exactly in same kinds of room just 5 days before. Even gave us a bad room to stay.
1) The Location is great I just love it. Like- approx. 10min walk to Masjid Al Nawabi (Prophet's mosque). All the shops & restaurants are down there very convenient. You can do great shopping & eat good food for sure. 2) All stuffs are very good except the Saudi reception supervisor & one Saudi security guard. All stuffs are our beloved Bangladeshi brothers they are so so good, helpful and caring (name: Tareq, Shakil, Arshad Bhai & many more all are just awesome). It would be great stay for any Bangladeshi people among with all those rude Saudi racist people who has zero english and zero manner 3) Reception girls are okay not too bad. 4) Women's gate 339 Masjid Al Nawabi is straight down there very good location for ladies.

I stayed in this hotel in all my previous stays over the last 5 years but the hotel experience this time was disappointing due to the lack of staff at the front desk who seemed unsure how to handle pressure. Despite multiple attempts over a week to upgrade my room, I encountered numerous obstacles from the reception desk. Additionally, the phone number provided in the application was not functional, and the housekeeping services were subpar. The unprofessional security staff at the parking garage further added to the negative experience.
