I enjoyed my stat since it was my first time. Particularly going up and down on cable cars.

For improvement, the operation of the cable cars to be monitored full time?

Would be great if both breakfast and WIFI is included in the cost of the rooms.

The TV has only three channels; this is unacceptable. The fridge was rusty.

WiFi very good, although it has to be paid separately. The one included in the price is only available in the lobby. For three days about 18 USD. The room was very clean, the cleaning staff attentive and friendly.

They have been out of chlorine for weeks and the pool is unusable.

I really enjoyed the breakfast in the restaurant. The pizza does take a while. I enjoyed riding the vehicular up to my room. I climbed Tenaru Falls and really enjoyed the experience.

As always, poor to non-existent management. Restaurant always chaotic and often slow.. Slow hot water and shower. Room had to be changed as first one was not suitable.

Most staff are friendly especially in reception and rooms. Very good location. Pizzas are good

Good central hotel, in need of maintenance
    • Leisure trip
    • Couple
    • Standard Deluxe
    • Stayed 2 nights

The whole property could do with some maintenance. No hot water in our room. Restaurant was disappointing. WiFi was only free in the lobby - they offer a paid option for the room, but it's very expensive and only covers one device, so it's not really usable. Cheaper to buy a local SIM card with a lot of data instead. Considering the high price, I'd expected the hotel to be in better shape overall.

Perfect location, right in the centre of Honiara, just a block or two away from the museum, art gallery, handicraft market, Our Telekom office, and post office. So it's a great base for walking around and exploring the town. The funicular railway to get to your room is a fun experience and worked fine, although sometimes a little slow when it's busy. The room was comfortable and spacious. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The room we stayed in needed a bit of basic maintenance to get everything functioning as it should.

The accommodation was basic, but had everything you needed. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was good and the restaurant / bar area pleasant. The reception area was the only place to access WiFi, although they are trialing another "hotspot" service which worked well for me in the room. Great central location in Honiara.

Some rooms are better than others but ask the reception staff if another room suits your needs.

The food in the restaurant is always nice and kitchen staff are generally happy to provide meal requests for special diet. Staff are consistently helpful and efficient. A good experience. Hot water for showering appreciated after working all day. Also decent fridge in room.

Air conditioning issues that were not solved quickly and eventually resulted in changing rooms where there was an old air conditioner that was noisy. The funicular was out of order for much of one day, so the only access to my room meant climbing multiple flights of stairs.

Hotel location is excellent, being in the centre of the town, the view from the room was great, it was quiet.

Good Stay but Super Loud on Fridays
    • Leisure trip
    • Solo traveler
    • Standard Deluxe
    • Stayed 1 night

    - Very loud music blasting until 2:00am every Friday night - The front desk staff were nice, but they didn't know the open hours of some common sights and seemed confused on how to figure it out. They sent me to the tourist information center, which wasn't even open. I was surprised that this was difficult as I'm sure that they had previously been asked common questions like this.

    - Very comfortable room with AC, a refridgerator, and a balcony looking out to the pool - Great shower with hot water - Helpful staff at the restaurant and the front desk

    - Breakfast wasn't included - Very little hot water and poor pressure in shower - Exceptionally poor communication prior to my visit as emails went unanswered

    - Hotel was clean overall, except for the rat that ran from the kitchen into the dining area. Even the woman taking my order jumped. - Good location within walking distance of the central market, but tucked away from the main street - Good restaurant on site

If you don't mind its eccentricities, the King Sol is a great place to stay - recommended.
    • Business trip
    • Solo traveler
    • Standard Deluxe
    • Stayed 11 nights

The cable car could be a bit eccentric but you got used to its working after a couple of days - a very relaxing way to travel. Of the 16 days I was there I didn't have water in my room on 2 days, once in the morning and once in evening. No hot water at any time but the cold was refreshing, not freezing. The AC didn't work that well but the room had a ceiling fan which moved the air around and did the job.

The hotel is built on a hillside overlooking Honiara harbour with a series of buildings on four levels housing the rooms. These are serviced by a small cable car which runs from the lobby up to level 4 where I stayed. Amazing view of Honiara harbour from the verandah of the room. The room was spacious but basic, with a queen sized bed, desk, TV and a small fridge. The food in the restaurant was good, specially the pizzas, although services could be slow, especially in the mornings. The location was handy for my work and also close to a number of cafes and restaurants.
