Everything feels a bit neglected except the garden. renovated bathroom felt like a hospital bathroom with grey plastic floor and communal soap dispensers. with some tiles on the floor and fancy containers for soap (perhaps with some lavender from the garden) it would feel much more adequate for the house and royal aura. Breakfast felt both thoughtful and cheap at the same time. My recommendation is to collaborate with local businesses for higher quality products and produce. Home baked croissants or even bake off would be a good addition. Home made müsli or granola is always a good way to add a homey feel as well. Scrambled eggs from eggs instead of a bulk container is also much nicer. Local perhaps? I would gladly stay here again but I hope some more love and funds is applied before then. I still recommend anyone to have a good night's sleep at this historical place.

I was walking from Kalmar to Lange Erik and I stayed here two seperate nights (on my way up and down the island Oland). Had two diffrent rooms, both were nice (one had really big bathroom). There is also the big castle only 5 minutes away and shops, restaurants, bus station. Great location.

The property could have a EV charging spot, that would make things a lot easier. Finding spots is not always easy in Sweden.

We have spent the most wonderful days and nights at Drotting Victorias Hotell & Vilohem. Already upon arrival, our host welcomed us very warmly and made us feel comfortable, welcome and at home. The place is peacefully located on the stunning island of Öland, amidst fields, nature and with the current Royal residence Solliden and the Borgholm Slottsruin as neighbours. Guests will admire and love the rich history of the building and surroundings, as we did very much. The place, with its interior, just breathes this royal atmosphere. We spent our (3) nights in the annex next to the main building, with a very spacious bedroom and ballroom sized bathroom. All luxury was there, so was the peace and quiet needed for a good rest after days of exploring Öland. The menus offered are very very tasty and the service is just excellent, from early morning till late evening. We cannot thank the staff enough and wish our travel schedule had allowed us more time on the premises too, as during Summer, afternoon tea is also offered on specific days, which must be amazing to have in this setting. Something to go back for, as this place captured our hearts and left a lasting memory. Thank you for everything!!

When we arrived, it took ages to get anyone to come and check us in. When a girl came into reception, she seemed surprised to see us and was not particularly friendly. There was no food or bar in the evening - you couldn´t even get a cup of tea or coffee, as the machines had been emptied and switched off and there was no kettle in your room to make one yourself. There were also no staff on site overnight, with just a phone number to call if you had a problem.

Breakfast was OK, with a reasonable selection.

We were four and had two rooms, one was in a separated little house and it was great. Second one was in another building, almost the same price, literally on the ground floor just near the entrance/parking. People could look through the windows into the room, there was absolutely no intimacy (we had to keep the curtains closed all the time, felt claustrophobic). Door had a very oldschool lock, you could see through the gap. Very loud, in the morning you could hear other guests opening/closing the main door and going down the stairs in the corridor. Definitely too expensive for what it was, the description should be more specific - we would book another one. We though "bugdet" was about shared bathrom only.

Beautifully placed, nice stuff, great breakfast. Room in the annex building was absolutely lovely, deep in the garden with a nice view. Shared bathroom near the other room was clean, with extra towels.
