My room lacked a hairdryer, but when I asked, I was given one in a matter of minutes!

Great location in the historical centre. I was in a single room, which was very small, but it's okay for one person. There was everything I needed, the bed was cozy and everything was clean. Breakfast was great, there were a lot of choices, both sweet and savoury. The staff was kind and let me keep the luggage in the hall even after the checkout.

Our apartment was in the annex, which was about 200m away from the main wing of the hotel. The exterior also looked rather dingy. However, once we entered room 201, we were taken aback by how large, cosily decorated and comfy the apartment was! The only snag was the shower. Being foreigners, we were unaccustomed to how it worked.

The hotel is strategically located in the quaint neighbourhood of Adelsgatan near shops and restaurants in the heart of town, which was also within walking distance to the ruins and key attractions. The breakfast spread was sumptuous - there was such a varied range of cold meats, cheeses, breads, cereal, eggs, etc as well as batter to make our own waffles. Loved our self-catering apartment too! Our two-night stay there far exceeded our expectations.

The apartment was very spacious and nicely decorated. The beds were comfy and the kitchen was modern. The oven did not work but we were nicely compensated for that. The bathroom could use a renovation but the rest of the rooms were fresh. The breakfast was nice with waffles, fruits, smoothies, and other yummy stuff. We missed cream cheese on the buffet but otherwise, it was excellent. The location was perfect and the parking was nearby which we liked. We would indeed recommend Villa Borgen!

The rooms were a bit worn out, dusty and plain. There were teacups but no kettle. The service was not especially friendly.

The breakfast was good - we were offered gluten free bread on request (tho no other gluten free products...). The main building and the location was very nice. The night was peaceful.

The only minus of the hotel is that we found price/quality a bit expensive, at least for this standard room.

Cozy little hotel with typical interiors of the swedish country houses of 18th century, maybe even older.Especially the reception and the brekfast room It is located next to all the restaurants and shops, yet it was really calm place to sleep. Inner court in whoch our room was located, is a pleasant place to relax.

I was booking two rooms and on the first day of check-in the two rooms were in different places. Their front desk closes at 4:00 and it was after 4:00 when we arrived. I got the key through the mailbox, and to be honest, we would never have been able to find the other room if we hadn't met one of them that day, who seemed to be from the engineering department. The bathroom in one room had very poor drainage, and the other was an en-suite with no curtains in the bathroom. Since the front desk was closed, we had to wait until the next day as writing emails and making phone calls could not solve the problem that night. Luckily, we were given a large suite the next day, which was in very good condition.

The breakfast was very generous and we ate comfortably. The hotel is in a great location, right on the main street, so you can just wander around town every day. It is recommended to book apartment, other rooms are in too poor condition.

The stairs may be a little difficult for some people as they were steep and narrow. (The rooms were split over 2 floors, with the bathroom on the floor below)

We had a balcony with a view of the town and the water, wonderful to see the sunsets. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The breakfasts were very good. The hotel itself is full of character.

not really a problem but still, the room didn’t have windows but two openings at the top from where sunlight came in. there was ample light in the room of course but we couldn’t close this opening in the night. with longer days, not closing is bad for sleep. maybe the breakfast could have had some more dishes considering what is offered in other similar facilities.

The bathroom was very tiny. The walls were gery thin, do when my neighbour had a shower, it was like he was in my room.

The breakfast was rather simple but good. The location was great, in the old city and on a calm place. The personell was very helpful and kind. The room was very nice with a balcony.

So I realize that by staying in the old town, you will be staying in old buildings however, there was no sound proofing that had been done during remodeling and updating the building. I could hear the conversations next door, outside, and upstairs like I was sitting right next to them. This was especially annoying because they people in the room next door woke up at 6:15 every morning and because of the lack of sound proofing so did I. The bathroom was small but that was expected, I was more concerned about the water being so close to the electrical in the bathroom.

The location is great, right in the center part of the old town and easy to get to via taxi. I thought the ambiance was nice, modern and clean looking. For me, the breakfast was great, there was lots of healthy, fresh options which was perfect to start your day.

Quite an old bathroom which was cold inside and low pressure in the shower head. The room was quite cold as well. The bed was joint single beds despite the room being a junior suite. Finally, the entrance and bathroom were separated from the rest of the room by stairs which was inconvenient.

Excellent location, friendly staff, very cozy breakfast room and good breakfast. Nice interior design both in the room and the rest of the hotel.
