On arrival nobody was present, which also happened to a couple of other visitors we met. Had to call numerous times until I gained access to the booked cottage. The upper floor gets quite warm even during the night, and the AC does not help too much with that, because it does not blow upwards and there is no window that you can open on the upper level.

It's very close to Astrid Lindgrens Värld and Näs, i.e. in walking distance, and you can reach the center of Vimmerby easily. The staff was very nice. It was no problem to extend the stay by another day. This is probably different in the high season. Even in the low season on Friday and Saturday almost all cottages were occupied. We used the grill place a couple of times, which is nice in this complex. The cottages are not new anymore, but still good.

There was hair in the shower still from the previous guests when we arrived, it would be good to have staff check if everything has been cleaned well enough and touch up of necessary.

Perfect location for visiting Astrid Lindgren world, it was an easy walk there and back. Accommodation was simple but fine for a short stay.

it’s a Kilometer to the entrance of the Astrid Lindgrens World. whatever distance they’re measuring for the description, it‘s not distance to the entrance. heatpump / AC Units could be hidden better to not ruin the old Swedish house style

Small children and stairs can be a daunting task for parents to keep an eye on them while they climb it. No accidents happened, but it makes the parents quite uneasy.

The placement of the room was perfect for going to Astrid Lindgrens Värld.

The staircase to the beds upstairs was tricky to use. Small kitchen/livingroom if you are more than 3 person's staying even if there are 6 beds.

The room has AC. Bring your own bed linnen or you can borrow for 75 sek. Clean the room yourself or it can be done for a fee of 450 sek. Good food, breakfast for 55 sek/person. Dinner was taco and pizza buffé for 130 sek. Child under 3 no charge for the dinner.

The price value of the Oxgarden Hotel was one of the worst on our entire trip in Sweden in August 2023. We paid nearly 200Euros for a night without bedsheets (you have to bring them or pay extra), and you are expected to clean the place after your stay. No breakfast is included in your already steep price. The bathroom has no hotel standard - if you take a shower the entire bathroom floor is wet. The mattresses are old and saggy in the middle, making them pretty uncomfortable. If this place would charge 50-70 Euros per night and per cottage, I would say this is adequate, but 200 Euros per night is a rip-off and one of the worst price-value ratios in Southern Sweden. The place takes advantage of the Astrid Lindgren park and its visitors needing accommodations.

The location is great if you are planning on visiting Vimmerby and the Astrid Lindgren Park. I assume most people staying at this place come for that reason. Parking is free.

First off, we booked through booking.com and completely missed that there are no bedsheets or towels and that we had to clean ourselves to avoid a cleaning fee. That info was way down in the confirmation, which caused irritation. Had to rent towels and sheets, staff were awesome though in accommodating and dealing with me. It felt expensive for what it is, given I had to clean before leaving and sort bedding for just 1 nights stay. It’s very little soundproofing so when we tried to get our very small kids to bed we heard everything going on outside, which were kids playing until late. During the night I woke up because of hearing the neighbors open/close their door and we could even hear snoring through the walls.

Location is great and lovely for kids. And very sweet
