A special place with its own atmosphere. Free snackmeal weekdays. Nice bar on the first floor overlooking the castle and museum - they changed furniture so the comfu sofas are gone and replaced with standard chairs. But the view and atmosphere are great. The Annex is simple but with all facilities - good value for money.

Best location in Kalmar. Next to Kalmar Castle and within walking distance to shopping. Next to art museum and botanical gardens. Nice walkways along waterside.

The checkout time was a bit early, although this is made up for by having a very late check in time. The reception was not always manned so the wait there was a bit longer than you'd normally expect as well.

The breakfast included in the stay was extremely nice, the staff was very understanding and explained anything that may seem confusing, and even though i personally had one of the cheaper rooms it was still very clean and comfortable. I'd also like to note the nearby historical and cultural sites for anyone interested. The hotel is, as the name implies, right next to Kalmar castle, which is absolutely a must see if you're nearby. The hotel is also not too far away from Kalmar läns museum, which offers an equally impressive historical journey.

Super good breakfast and later I came back for lunch which was perfect for me. Location is also great with short walking distance to everything you need in Kalmar.

The rooms are pretty basic, but it's all I needed for this short stay.

It was a bit stressful that we had to pre-select a time for the breakfast, with two small kids you dont want the stress of hurrying to the breakfast in the morning when you're on vacation. The TV in the room was very small.

Family room was simple but comby bed and met our expectations. Great location and very nice common area where we could sit and have tea and biscuits for free.

Friendly staff. Good location close to the university and beautifully situated near the castle and the sea. Nice that a free supper is included in the price.

Having to walk over the road to the hotel or breakfast. It happened to be clear when we were there, but if it had been pouring with rain or snowy and slippery, I would not have been pleased. I know it's budget, but these things should have been made clear in your advertising. I also noted that access for disabled people would be difficult My real complaint is that it was difficult to sleep because of the intermittent sound of an engine running somewhere. It was NOT the lift. It sounded more like a washing machine or tumble dryer

That the ad did not clearly specify that you needed to reserve parking with the room. We were forced to park about 10 mi.utes from the hotel.

We didn't stay in the main hotel , it was an adjacent plain hotel with simple rooms.

The location was just down the street from the Kalmar Castle, the main building was elegant and they served a light supper of soups and breads when we arrived, all free, Then the breakfast was very good with a large variety of foods and actually had bacon and eggs and pancakes!

Lots of hard surfaces in big room. Maybe add some curtains, more plush furniture? A bit pricey.

Great breakfast selection and I discovered too late that I could even have ordered a la carte omelette, etc.
