눉1) Not enough closet space and not enough drawers 2) Toilet poorly ventilated 3) Staff not very knowledgeable: We asked tourist questions to front desk & were referred to concierge office staff who also did not know. Also when when we asked questions about New Year's Eve at the same hotel, they did not provide information 4) Gym is not new and not very clean
눇1) Our room was on the 21st floor with wonderful view 2) Good Location: very near MRT station and within walking distance to Clark Quay where there are restaurants & bars 3) Two complimentary bottles of water daily 4) Big safety box inside closet

눉On our first two nights, our room did not have hand towels. Also, a minor remark regarding the sauna. Although very nice, it needs to be switched on/off by the customer. In one occasion, it was occupied, so I decided to go to the pool first. When I came back to the sauna about 30min later, it had been turned off by the previous customer. Since it takes about 10min to heat up, I had to turn it on and wait again in the swimming pool until it was ready to use. As I said, it is a minor thing, admittedly, but it would be appreciated to have some mechanism to indicate I was willing to use the sauna, so that the previous user would know not to turn it off.
눇This is a very good hotel, which actually looks like two previously separate hotels that combined forces: there are two buildings (Peninsula and Excelsior), two swimming pools, etc., but a combined reception (which is not at the street level, which was initially slightly confusing). My wife and I stayed for 4 nights on a room in the Peninsula building, facing the Excelsior tower, and really loved it. The rooms are very clean, spacious and highly comfortable, with great shower and king bed. Our favourite feature was the cushioned seating space along the glass window, equipped with a little tea table, which allowed us to have our breakfast appreciating a panoramic view of Singapore (our booking did not include the breakfast served by the hotel, which we also found a bit too expensive). The hotel facilities are very good. We used extensively the swimming at the Peninsula Tower, which is wide enough for good swimming and has a beautiful glass wall. We also used extensively the gym and sauna, which, like the swimming pool, stays open until 9pm. The hotel location was perfect, right at the core of the Civic district and only minutes walking away from City Hall MRT station, Raffles City mall, Clarke Quay, the National Gallery and many other attractions and facilities.
