The hotel is a little worn out and needs some TLC. Some fans in the breakfast room and down at the bar area are needed in this heat with no aircon or sea breeze. Sandflies - an issue all over Koh Chang so not just this resort The AC in the rooms are very loud (ok if you like white noise like us but know others struggle)

Friendly staff, rooms clean and comfortable, lovely pool over looking the ocean - it was quiet and not a big resort so no waiting for breakfast tables etc. pool loungers always available. Breakfast had good variety both western and thai options.

The beach itself is poor. More like a sandy estuary than a beach that we had to walk far out to get any depth. Not very pretty either but would suit children and adults paddling. Accommodation becoming tired and will shortly require refurbishing.

While the breakfast (overlooking the ocean) was fantastic the dinners weren’t of the same calibre - maybe we just chose the wrong dishes to try. Also the hot water wasn’t very hot on the three cloudier days we experienced. But hardly something to complain about!

The setting, the beach and the staff made for an exceptional vacation spot, especially if you enjoy the water and beach combing. A bit of a walk to the main road of Klong Phrao with restaurants, a few shops, etc but free rides there made it easy. The villa was lovely with the most comfortable bed we’d had in our six weeks away. Oh and the pool was lovely too - warm and clean and well tended.

1. Bathroom is old - there is very little water pressure so the bath cannot be used as a bath, just a shower. Mine was leaking a lot, which meant the bath looked stained. All the taps and some of the electrical fixtures have large visible cracks where they are installed at the wall. 2. While there is room service, my room had no phone and it took 3 days for it to be installed. 3. While staff are generally very helpful (especially Lom) they can be hard to find. E.g. there is a pool bar but no staff there. I would have spent much more money if staff actually came up to me asking if I wanted to order - every time I had to go to the bar to order things. 4. It is named Barali resort + spa, but there is no spa. It is unclear if it is being repaired or simply does not exist. Staff will kindly arrange for in-room massage though. 5. Breakfast was quite average. Selection of western (bread, croissants, spreads, made-to-order scrambled eggs/omelettes/eggs benedict) and eastern (various noodles, rice/porridge dishes) and other (random processed ham and chicken sausage? very artifical juice - coffee machine, not very appealing)

1. Private beach and pool are nice, nearby other nice resorts too 2. The exterior of the resort is beautiful - lovely architecture, though starting to look quite rundown in places 3. The beach massage service is fantastic. 4. While in between much more busy locations like Kae Bae and white sand beach, it is a fairly quiet part of the island, which I enjoy.

The staff was very friendly and helped with any request! The resort has a beautiful and quiet beach. The little town ist just 10 minutes walk away and also some nice restaurants on the neighbouring beach! The room was clean and quiet big! The breakfast was big and offered many option from western breakfast to Thai breakfast! And they had a nice little bar for the evening with delicious cocktails :) You could lend a canoe for some hours to paddle to the little island close by. Couldn't wish for anything else!

We took a suite with a view on the beach. The price of it is double than w normal bed room and even if the view is very pleasant I don’t think it is worth it. I would not do it again. I would take a normal room. I believe it was was too expensive for what it is.

Some parts of the hotel feel a bit "old"/outdated but is has its own charm, options for food for breakfast are a bit limited.

The restaurant is only ok, it has some good dishes but the menu is little, very few options. Also, breakfast is ok but not very reach.

The hotel is right on the beach, and the beach is large and beautiful and when is low tide you can walk to other very nice hotels and restaurants that are on the same beach. We liked the room, it was big and spacious but a little outdated. Also, the staff is very nice and helpful. We also liked the big garden and the pool.

A lot of ants everywhere in the bathroom, sometimes going in the bedroom and therefore sometimes found a few in the bed, but that was not a big deal.
