눉No bad experience, but it's not very close to Loei Town or Dan Sai, if that's what you have in mind. If you're interested in the national park, gorgeous temple, wine vineyards, and other fantastic local spots, then the location is great. (oh, and bring insect repellant.) Breakfast was merely coffee or tea, with some crackers and store-bought breakfast cakes. One day, we also had some fresh fruit (watermelon and dragonfruit). Lack of real breakfast didn't bother me, however, as I heading into Dan Sai in the morning, where there would be plenty of good food. (also the town has a good morning market, if you don't mind a 1.5km walk, or can arrange the short ride).
눇One person running the whole place, who spoke very little English, yet she was as friendly and helpful as can be. In fact, virtually no signs or menus in town are translated into English. They don't get many foreign travelers, so you will be treated with both hospitality and curiosity. Friendly neighbors who offered to give me a ride into Dan Sai (about 35 minutes away). For a negotiated price, one neighbor even became my driver for an entire day - proudly showing me all the interesting and unique things her town offered. She even bought me lunch! The "resort" itself is very rural. Comfortable cabin. Mine had A/C, but do yourself a favor - save a few bucks and just book a 'fan' room. The weather is so pleasant in those parts, A/C is unnecessary. In fact, even a fan was unnecessary. The best part was getting to experience an area of the province most foreigners never see. It was like camping, without the hardships of camping.
