Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaHotel is starting to look a bit tired especially the rooms. Boardwalks, facades and light fittings in exposed areas now need substantial work to prevent further deterioration - money which would be well spent to keep the property as it was presumably always intended? All reflects the build date (circa 15 years ago?), and possibly insufficient maintenance since. Hotel 'sells' the library/book reading throughout, but doesn't actually provide any purposed reading lights in the bedroom! Lighting around the vanity basin would also now be regarded as poor. Extensive paint peeling off shower walls! The old-fashioned keyed entry to rooms is a nice but old touch ....but a security failure given the room number is attached! Maybe a card entry should be considered for any future renovation - simpler, less cumbersome, and safer.
Well located, architecturally designed minimalist hotel right on the best part of Chaweng beach, but just out of the crazy central area. Friendly staff were universally always helpful. Thoroughly enjoyable stay. Inclusive breakfast is an extensive a la carte - but would have been nice to have had a sweet pastry on the menu somewhere for those of us who are no longer body conscious!

United KingdomEach room is a suite, containing a large bedroom plus a separate lounge area. The downside of the lounge areas is that they are configured part-indoor part-outdoor, meaning that they're not air-conditioned. The bedrooms are air-conditioned whereas the separate lounges aren't, which isn't ideal in a climate as hot and humid as Samui's.
"Chaweng" and "upmarket boutique hotel" aren't two concepts that go together naturally. But that's exactly what the Library is - a small, classy beachfront boutique hotel with large rooms and outstanding outdoor areas, located in central Chaweng.

SwitzerlandNothing major. At night we heard the sound of other party locations. Saturday and sunday some (6) elderly guests were inconsiderate about other guests by reserving the sunbeds with their towels and bags despite not being around. This, however, has nothing to do with the hotel but the rudeness of the guests. Maybe a policy could prevent such behavior?
Design, rooms, love to details, attentive staff, spacious pool area, good food.

AustraliaChewang has lost a lot of its charm, lots of empty shops but that is not the hotel's fault. If you are going to stay anywhere in the centre of Chewang this is the hotel
Great beach right in front of the hotel, they have stopped the jetskis from riding right out the front which is great. Busy beach but you can hideaway on your beanbags within the confines of the hotel 2 for 1 coctails between 5-7 Super restaurant Breakfast is a la carte which we loved as you knew the food was cooked to order. If you are going to stay anywhere in the centre of Chewang, this is the hotel to stay in. Rooms are modern and cool The pool is big, love the red tiles.

AustraliaThere was nothing we didn't like.
The Library was the perfect place for a relaxing holiday. Stunning architecture and design, very luxurious, quiet and uncrowded, and superb service by all the staff there. The facilities were excellent including the library, gym and restaurant. We stayed in the two bedroom secret pool villa and it was beautiful and private. Breakfasts were amazing and there was great variety.

AustraliaWhile the staff are great and happy to modify menu items to be vegan, it would be great if the Library updated its menu to just include 2-3 clearly marked vegan options.

RussiaIt definitely needs some makeup renewal, condition of the environment is pretty “tired”. The food is amazing on the looks but can’t state the same of the taste. And the last tip for the Content Team: it was a personal disappointment that a place called “The Library” doesn’t have a book-crossing initiative or an opportunity to buy-out the books.
Amazing design concept, especially the red pool, and overall aesthetics of minimalism. The beach front with comfortable sunbeds and friendly staff. Overall small details that make you feel this place is special.
