Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaA bit tricky to find, and you must walk the last bit. Suggest finding on Google Maps to get there (link in the app is not quite accurate). Try to get an upstairs room, they are much nicer than the downstairs ones.

ItalyThe common parts deserve a deep cleaning (rooftop, swimming pool, internal court with couches, etc.) and must be cleaned regularly! The swimming pool is disgusting with pigeons and lots of dirt in it, which is a pity. Also rooms cleaning is very superficial and should be improved. Very expensive.
The view from the rooftop is beautiful and the location is great, just behind the center of Sidi Bou Said. Rooms are small but there is everything you need. Big and delicious breakast!

BelgiumWe had to wake up a bit earlier on day 2 (around 7:30) and we were surprised to see that the breakfast was not ready at all, we had to wait and what we got was quite basic compared to the breakfast on the day before. Also, the welcoming is quite basic, it looks like the place lacks a manager.

SpainThey say it’s close to the beach, but it’s on a hill top, so getting to the beach requires to walk down and climb back toooons of stairs on a path not that close to the hotel. Other than that is confortable.
It’s one of the few roof tops we saw with a jacuzzi.

IrelandThe road is small to go to the hotel but it is not the hotel's fault. However, my biggest disappointment about the hotel was when I went to the roof top pool, there were 2 French females nude sunbathing and I saw their bare body. As Tunisia is a predominantly muslim country (I am half Tunisian), they don't respect our law that prohibits nudity nor the majority of the muslim community here. I am staying in Europe and we need to follow the law there especially in France where any sign of religious clothing are prohibited. When I come back to Tunisia to bring my wife to visit there, I was shocked as why this happen as nudity in public is a criminal offence here. Understandably that Tunis is a little bit different but not to that extend. When I express this to the staff at the hotel, they were scared to say anything to the 2 ladies. Then I confronted them myself and tell them that this is a criminal offence, they got really offended and were very mad to the staff telling her that I bothered their sunbathing session. The staff just keep quiet while the 2 ladies keep telling her their feeling about me because I ask them to respect our country's law. They keep on pushing the agenda of me disturb their peace. I guess they want me and my wife to be kick out of the hotel. Upon failing to do so as the staff didn't say or do anything, they went to their room very annoyed. A reminder to the hotel, I know there's a huge sentiment that foreigner has more money than the local (not always true as there are many Tunisian that either working in Europe making money same as the European or Tunisian that generally has money). However, that doesnt permit the foreigner to do whatever they want and disrespect our country. They need to follow the Tunisian law to have the balance between the local and foreigner. We are people of Culture and Tradition.
Dar Fatma care taker was nice and we have a comfortable stay. The room match the expectation of the price. The location was amazing as it is in the centre of the old town sidi bou said. Has a lot of restaurant around.

DenmarkIf you plan to explore Sidi Boussaid - this is your perfect address! With only a few rooms Dar Fatma is a very cozy private hotel where one is only few steps away from the local market in Sidi Boussaid. It has great views, very properly furnished, with Tunisian charme, and it is very well looked after. The staff provided information regarding Sidi Boussaid, which was helpful. Personally I appreciated a lot the acceptance of the owner of the hotel regarding the duration changes of my stay, although it was within the last 48h.
