Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

We wanted to stay somewhere that would give us good walking access to this part of this vast city. We could not have chosen better, within easy couple of minutes walk of the two greatest mosques in the Arab world, Grand Bazaar, a good range of restaurants, shops, and the coast. Although we didn't use the ferry, as we preferred to walk along the promenade to the city center, the ferry was located only a few minutes from the hotel. Staff were friendly and the room was as expected. Note however that there is no lift, so if your bags are heavy you'll need to carry them up the stairs yourself. The quirky very narrow shower may bother some people, but we thought it was fun, and it did the job.

HungaryNothing, I didnt dislike anything but it's important for others to consider that there is no elevator in case someone has any mobility issues.
The location was great, very close to Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, the restaurant located in the terrace of the hotel has amazing views and it gives you a discount if you are staying at the hotel. There is always someone at the reception to help you in case you need, and the staff was very nice and kind. They also helped us to arrange the transportation to the airport as we had an early flight and it was fast and great.

IrelandBreakfast place has incredible views but food quality is not great. It’s only 5€ though, so it’s affordable and we got it only one morning.
Great value for money and lovely hotel with a perfect view over Hagia Sophia from the balcony. Clean room and comfortable bed. Friendly staff, Efe and the rest of the team were always willing to help. Perfect location in the historic center of Istanbul.

United States of AmericaVery narrow staircase, if u have a luggage with u, it can't be a challenge to carry it with u.....also the room had a strong smell (wasn't coming from AC or outside....was from the restroom (smth they used for showers I think)...for some reason smelled like mold....good thing it wasn't too hot, so I had window open all the time (helped a little).
Very good location! Conveniently located to most of the attractions. The restaurant on a roof was awesome, same as waitstaff! Excellent food, view and service at the restaurant.

BelgiumNo maps of the city available at the reception desk, some communication problems due to the poor english of the receptionist.
Nice neighborhood, small shops around, nice restaurants around, the hotel is clean, the staff polite and helpful, facilities are clean and modern, AC working fine, 24/7 reception, free taxi ride from the airport (although we experienced some trouble finding him...).

South AfricaThe bathroom was small and smelled damp, even with the fan left on permanently. The room was very loud, everyone that walked up and down the stairs sounded as if they were talking and stomping right next to your ear. This woke us up/kept us up each night and I am someone that is able to sleep through gun shots...
Great view of the Hagia Sophia and the sea, excellent location - a short walk from all major attractions in Sultanhamet and close to the metro line for easy access to travel.
