Taxi service is a bit of a disappointment. They need to engage more professional drivers, as they are the first and final impressions.

It was my second stay within a week at this place. The amenities & facilities they provide, as well as the staff specially Ms Elif and her team, are extremely cooperative and make you feel at home. I was also given a complimentary upgrade in the room to make my stay more comfortable and pleasant. For architecture & history lovers, building is a piece of art which a 100 years old but extremely well maintained. Tram, money exchanges, restaurants, shops everything is literally at walking distance.

The Air conditioning could have been better.

The location was a stone's throw from all the major attraction in the Old part of Istanbul. The room was spacious. The breakfast spread was good.

You can hear tram’s noise if your room is on Tram side. There’s a light in A/C, which was annoying for me. But it can be nothing for someone else.

Excellent location, easily accessible to everything. Tram is literally like 3 minutes of walk. There’s pool & spa in the hotel. Exceptional service by the hotel staff. A special thanks to Ms Elis for being kind, helpful and giving guidance during our stay.

Airport transfer bit expensive but that said it was a punctual service city to airport. Bit slow when picked up however. Big city and busy I guess.

Unfortunately the spa and pool was closed, however the hotel gave us a room upgrade for one room (we were a party of four and had two stand doubles ) because we had chosen this specific hotel for the facilities and the style. The new room was much more spacious than the standard doubles, it had a king size bed and included a bath. It was equally as comfortable. The only downside was that it overlooked the side of the hotel where the trams run late and early in the morning, the street below is very busy as it is a main high Street. If you like a quiet location ask for a room away from this side of the building. For us it wasn't a problem as we were out a lot and the trams reduced in frequency after 10pm, they do begin again early. The windows seemed to be thin despite being double glazed and at first we thought the windows were open it was very loud while the street was busy and the shops were open. The spa did reopen on our last day and I can confirm it is lovely, we enjoyed a traditional hammam and steam room, sauna and massage. The pool and jacuzzi was still closed but it looked great.

The crown plaza is a fascinating building with traditional style so you feel like a hotel away rather than a hotel with interior decor that is the same style as anywhere. We wanted to feel like we were on holiday in Istanbul not in a hotel that could have been back home in England, That is something we didn't want especially as my husband travels a lot with work. The crown plaza has a stunning interior style and you are immersed into an Ottoman empire with modern elegance. The lobby has shops selling clothes, souvenirs, and hairdressers, there is security at the entrance to prevent unsolicited Street sellers coming inside, which is great. Upon arrival we were greeted by a member of staff who took our luggage and brought it to the rooms check in was thorough and we received plenty of information we would need for our stay, it was late and the staff were very helpful. The bedrooms were extremely comfortable and it was hard to get up early for our excursion, because the bed was so nice. We took two standard doubles, one located on the front of the building which looked out above the front door, the street is a quiet street so it was fine and one at the rear with no views other than the rooftop it was lovely and quiet. The concierge organised a trip up the mountain for us and it was fantastic, we had our own driver all day and saw many sights, including the cable cars up to the top of the mountain/ski resort. The trip was well worth the money for four people, we went to the silks factory and Turkish delight shop, a small village bazaar and on the ferry too, our driver was very patient and kind, nothing was too much trouble. We didn't eat an evening meal in the restaurant but saw many people doing so and it looked good, the breakfast was plentiful with lots of choices.

The room could be more clean, the bath accessories are old and does not work properly. The room sound insulation is not good and you can hear everything that happens outside (especially several mosques around)

The room was good, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and the spa was great. The location is good, not far from the tram line T1 and it is easy to get to the center and main attractions.

We booked a room with breakfast on booking.com however upon arrival we were told that our stay didn’t include breakfast which was a big disappointment, furthermore they asked us for €15 each per day which we thought was not on. Despite the hotel being posh ad on the higher end, the decor and furniture is in a great need for renewal and a make over.

The location was great, the hotel room was big, the beds nice and comfy.

My shower leaked water onto my carpet in the main room, which wasn’t major though it smelt a little, but I just opened the windows while I was out to clear it. A shop owner in the foyer of the motel all but trapped me in his shop trying to force me to buy things then tried to take me out for a ‘2 minute walk’ to his shop which I ended up having to forcefully say no to

Location was excellent, I walked everywhere I went. The motel has a great spa and wellness centre on the lower level also. Very friendly housekeeping staff

The only problem I felt was that the little bar/restaurant area that they had was overpriced with limited food options. The food was very average and at nearly £10 a pint it made the prices in London seem cheap! They do however have a happy hour 5-7 which was a small consolation.

Overall a good stay here and very much worth the price I paid. The hotel is very well presented, albeit initially hard to find, tucked away down the side of a street. The staff upon arrival were very friendly and efficient at checking me in and the friendliness and efficieny was something that was consistent through out my stay. My room was clean and stocked with ample bathroom amenities. The hotel is situated perfectly for sight seeing, the main sights are only a 20/25 minute walk away and the grand Bazaar is roughly 10 minutes away. My only gripe about the area is there aren't really any restaurants or bars in the area so in the evening it can be a little tough to find somewhere to eat if you don't fancy heading into taksim or eating a kebab from one of the vendors across the road.
