There is quite a steep flight of stairs to climb to get up to the old street, might not be suitable with elderly or if you have large luggages

There were marks on the bathroom tiles that looked dirty but it was under the seal on the tiles. The floor was actually exceptionally clean.

There are not many places for breakfast but Sunny Room offer an excellent cheese on toast, salad, fruit and fresh milk tea. What they didn't tell us was that the small cost of breakfast goes to support an animal shelter!

Only one bathroom for our room that can fit 6 people. Very painful.

Cottage style room tucked in the lower part of the with beautiful view. Overlooking the ocean from the balcony. There are two super cute dogs that belong to the owner, so it's a bonus if you love the fur friends.

The place was really well located - take the stairs and within 5mins you will be at the start of the Jiufen old street area beginning from the bottom of the stairs; the old street stretches along the stairs. The room is huge and it has a great view at the balcony area. Place was very homely and clean, owner was very helpful!

- there was only one bathroom+toilette for 5people, which was very inconvenient. Also, there is no way to avoid walking into another person's room for the bathroom or the balcony.

- the view was amazing - the staff was super nice and helpful - it was quite well located, but you better be fit, as there are many stairs to climb.

A very cozy, comfortable and reasonably priced accommodation located in the middle of Jiufen street. Friendly hosts(including dogs and cats) will welcome you. (You’d better to find the slope to the house on the right side of the bus parking lot rather than the long stairs.) All you have to do is enjoy the beautiful port view out of the window.

It was a very long trek down from Jiufen Old Town to get to Sunny Room. If we had brought our rolling luggage, that would not have worked.

Breakfast was hearty and delicious. The view of the mountains from the room was breathtaking. The organic sloping bathroom walls was charming.

Do take note if bringing many luggage and having kids or elderly as Jiufen is a hilly region and definitely stairs to get to any accommodation. No worries about luggage as the owner helps to bring them from the bus stop on the main street and back up if help is needed. Just inform and request from them!

The view was great and this place is away from the busy streets, great for families who want to enjoy nature and the scenic view of Jiufen. Family room was huge and more than enough space for family of 5. Owner is a lovely lady and her family and friendly dogs around. We love the hospitality and friendliness and the kids felt at home and enjoyed the stay and the area within the space more than the crowded Jiufen streets.

There’s the occasional smell of sewage in the toilet, but it dissipates and was not a problem.

Very friendly, polite staff. One of them spoke english. Very accomodating to our request for vegetarian breakfast etc. There were 2 dogs which were super cute.and friendly. Our room was on 2 levels. Lower level had 2 beds and upper level one bed. Although we liked the upper level more - we had to sleep in the lower level as we had young kids and all the luggage had to be squeezed in there although it was a bit tight. Location was good - a long flight of stairs and you are in the heart of jiufen
