Spa was not working. Web site is a bit misleading since there is no breakfast served.

Conveniently located, the lodge shows a bit of wear but overall was a very nice play to stay. The room was clean and well-equipped, with a comfortable bed, two sinks and a nice shower. The room seemed to have been updated within the past few years and a hard floor kept things a bit cleaner than with carpet. Fresh danish were in the lobby each morning.

It is a very well-loved, well-worn hotel. Even though we paid less than other places, to me, it was still a lot of money for the quality of lodging. The tv was fuzzy. The carpet is old. The furnishings and structure are old. So if you are very particular about furnishings, you will NOT be happy with the condition of this hotel! One small elevator. So we got our steps in and used the stairs-so probably not great for strollers and wheelchairs, since only one party could fit at a time.

The location was the best! Across the street from Mission Santa Ynez (cross this off my bucket list to see all the missions!) and super easy to walk down the street to all the shops and restaurants! I actually loved that it used a regular key vs an electronic key! Shower had great water pressure. Towels were good. Bed was comfy. Had a microwave and small fridge. And a little coffee maker. We spent just one night, and upon checking out, was pleasantly surprised by complimentary pastries from OLSEN"S! The line for Olsen's was sooooo long...so what a sweet treat to get fresh pastries from that bakery! Free parking is ALWAYS appreciated. Early check in was appreciated also! Nice staff!

Decor a bit tired, there were some signs of the property being a bit run-down.

Pleasant looking buildings, great location, easy walking distance to nearly everything. (Solvang is small, but there it is.) Spacious rooms, microwave & fridge. Very pleasant office staff.

Was super disappointed in the lack of insulation around the door which made any outside noise echo in the room. The people in the room next to us kept having people banging on their door which sounded like our door was being knocked on, which at one point I answered the door to a guy waiting for the room to open the door. I mentioned the noise level to them but it didn't stop. Ended up calling to the front desk about it. Seemed to stop after that but anytime anyone walked by we could hear their full conversation. When we checked out, there was no mention about our complaint from the staff. Hotel was clean but expected a little more for the fee we paid.

The location was fantastic, just a short walk to all the city center sites. The outside of the hotel was cute and fit in perfectly with rhe town decor

Beds are very subjective; this one didn't really suit me. And after the night time view comes the morning noise! Some double glazing would be good!

Right in the center - we loved the lights of the town outside our window and the easy walk to places to eat. And appreciated being able to leave our car all the next morning while we looked around the shops.

The vending machines don't work. One of them sucked my dollar. The hotel also doesn't stock toothpaste and toothbrushes or bottled water.

The room was beautiful and very clean. There was a working fireplace in the corner of the room as well. Beautiful furniture. The hotel staff didn't have any toothpaste though and when their vending machine didn't work, they didn't do much about it...but that's a minor complaint. Overall very nice stay.

It was stated in the email sent after booking that breakfast was included in the payment but when we asked where the breakfast was we were given only pastries NOT the real breakfast, Too noisy especially at night since the location is in the main highway and you can hear the sound of cars/ motorists. One employee was too lazy to print my receipt which I requested upon check out and he did it only after I told him that in the previous two hotels where we stayed that we were given printed receipts. Very disgusting!

Danishes

The room was great. The fireplace was wonderful to wake up to. The two recliners were great to relax in. The building itself had a dated look to it that made it look warm and fuzzy. However, the "breakfast" was something that was left to be desired. I love Danishes. However, I also do not like coming down to the office to see a box holding Danishes that have the "grease" soaked into it. They were hard and were the day old (or older) rejects from a local bakery. They were so hard (how hard were they?) that I took two each day and then painted them black and I am currently using them for Hockey pucks for my team. It may seem like a minor point but a nicer display (put them on a tray) along with a coffee pot and condiments for coffee would have gotten them a much higher rating. Overall, it was worth the money for the room and the staff. I would stay there again if the opportunity presented itself.

The prices have really jumped and I no longer find it acceptable that there haven't been any updates. The beds and bedding can use a little TLC. The rest of the stuff doesn't matter as much, but a comfy bed would be really nice.

They have a few danishes in the morning, the staff is really nice and the rooms are, "roomy". We love staying here and the pool and hot tub are such a bonus! It's my favorite motel in Solvang.

The facilities are very old-fashioned, and there was only Danish(?) bread called breakfast. (No egg or drinks, nothing but a few breads).

The only thing I satisfied is the location. It's the starting point of downtown. There is fire place in the room and I thought it would be great if I could visit again in winter season.

The rooms are very outdated and drab - could use updating and a little more sanitary. there was a leak in the room, the sheets and blankets did not feel clean and sanitary - curtains were dirty and pool was closed due to unhealthy bacteria contamination. Put more coffee in the rooms.

Looks very old and dirty the rug was dirty the curtains wouldn’t close all the way and so much light would come in i couldn’t sleep also found an old bag of food inside the microwave and the shower area is a bit small its too expensive for all these flaws also no complimentary breakfast they had some danishes when checking out but they don’t even say you can help yourself or anything so you don’t even know if you can get one

The mini fridge and microwave loved that the bed was bouncy and very comfortable i liked the little get ready area!
