Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaGood location, very helpful staff. The historic elements of the building were pretty cool, though not fancy. Walls can be thin, so hopefully you have a quiet neighbor.

United States of AmericaHonestly for a old building so I heard the walls having cracks. Make it look like it had history. I'd definitely stay again. To some people it may look trashy but it just gives it character

United States of AmericaSlightly musty smell to place. Long haul to top floor with bags (No elevator).
Loved the downtown Juneau location and history around hotel, its origin and its "haunting." Room was of better quality than expected given 2-star rating. Granted I had mini-kitchen and private bath, unlike most guestrooms. Secure and safe access with electronic lock to lobbies.

Historic 1913 building in the middle of downtown with a fun old saloon type bar with live entertainment.

United States of AmericaWe happened to be there on karaoke night at the bar and usually I can sleep through anything but this was ridiculous. Was LOCKED OUT AS STATED IN SUBSEQUENT REVIEW! UNACCEPTABLE ESPECIALLY BECAUSE CALLED AHEAD TO TALK ABOUT FERRY SCHEDULE CHANGING AND LATE ARRIVAL.
Loved the history and the feel of staying in a place like this.

United States of AmericaThe pic. of the places was nicer than the place itself. When I look out the only window in the room and all I see is knotweed. I got the room with a stove, sink and microwave. So that I could cook my own food instead of eating out all the time, but there were no pans or any dishes. in the room and when I asked about getting the things, I needed so I could cook in and eat on I was told that the stove and sink was just for show. I was disappointed..
I like that it was right downtown, and everything was walking distance.

AustraliaWe were in it placed in a room which no one should inhabit. Fortunately a better room was available although it did not reflect the advertised picture either.
We loved the ambiance of the hotel. Walking back in time and very well preserved. Most of the staff were lovely.

United States of AmericaNeed earplugs due to bar entertainment. Nowhere to sit in room. Seems like people live in hotel - sort of a bad hostel vibe. Everything was not exactly clean or exactly dirty. Just a really weird expensive experience.
Property had hot water and held luggage. Location was good. Solid 1 star hotel and over priced.

United States of AmericaRoom felt old and a bit run down. Bathroom and showers were down the hall and were not the cleanest or most spacious. (I understand this has to do with the historic nature of the building.) The bar downstairs is a lot of fun but note that on Wednesdays it is karaoke night and you will most likely hear it right inside your room (I opted to join in the fun instead of trying to block it out). Odd, but the room had no hangers and the staff told me they did not have any when I asked for some .
Perfect location for exploring downtown Juneau. Easy to walk to all of the downtown attractions as well as plenty of options for booking further away excursions. Room was spacious enough and had its own sink in the room which was helpful. Very cool, historic building with an active bar just below.

United States of AmericaThe shared bathroom was dirty. There were several days of no soap or paper towels. The floors were not vacuumed or swept. The rooms are above the bar, which we knew and expected. What we didn’t expect was the pot shop next door. The smell from the shop and it’s customers permeated the entire hotel. If you are scent sensitive beware.
The hotel is quaint and historic. The location was both good and bad….downtown with all it’s history, excitement and energy. The bed was very comfortable.

AustraliaWe stayed two nights and the shared toilets and showers did not get cleaned during that time. There were the same wet towels on the shower floor the whole time. Both the toilet paper and hand paper towels ran out. When I asked the girl at the reception desk for more her initial response was it was not her job and we would have to wait until the next day when the housekeepers arrived. She eventually restocked them after some coaxing.
The hotel is right in the middle of town so very convenient. But being in the middle of town it can be a bit noisy if they are playing music down the road where you get the crepes and tacos. The hotel is charming Victorian style and the room itself was fine. The bed was comfortable and there was enough room to lay our bags out.

You can tell the hotel has been standing for a very long time which is impressive. Our flight came in late at 12:30 a.m. and the staff hung out until we checked out even though the bar had closed.
