Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaToilet ran and was a bit loud. Minor frustration. Awkwardly designed kitchen & bathroom, but workable and kitchen a nice bonus

United States of AmericaIt was not possible to call the front desk to make a change to our reservation. Calls were all routed to a distant call center that couldn't deal with our reservation.
Excellent location. Kitchenette if a plus.

United KingdomThere was some construction work going on so no bar or restaurant facilities which would have been good on the first night on arrival as we were tired. The day before our departure we had booked a taxi to the airport with the concierge, fortunately we checked in the morning (with a different concierge) and found our booking hadn’t been recorded even though we had gone through all the details etc.
We had booked two x 2 bed studio rooms and were upgraded to suites which were lovely, very clean and spacious. Each had a little kitchenette which was a great self catering option especially as there was a supermarket/deli directly across the road. We were 3 minutes walk from the subway which made travelling anywhere really easy. A very friendly nice neighbourhood and friendly staff.who arranged for wine and chocolates in my son’s room for his birthday which was a lovely and much appreciated surprise.

MaltaWe really liked staying at the Beacon Hotel! The proximity to so many great restaurants, bars and theatres; as well as to Central Park make its location incredible. The surrounding area is quiet, clean and rather orderly. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

United KingdomThe bathroom was tiny and the bathroom furniture tired and dated. The kitchenette area was a bonus as it was fine to use for making a cup of tea. However, it was tiny and the worktop area is effectively out of use as there was a large fridge blocking it.
Staff were excellent at all times. They were always on hand to answer questions and were very helpful. In effect, we had one bedroom with two double beds and a lounge area with a sofa bed. This meant that there was lots of room. Location was great as very close to a sub way station. It was only a short walk to Central Park.

United KingdomThe heater controls didn’t work in the room and it didn’t get fixed even though we reported it. So we were too hot at night. And the door was missing on the freezer compartment of the refrigerator so some of our food froze and had to be throw away.
A lovely hotel in a beautiful part of the city. Only two minutes walk to the subway. The staff were great and we felt very at home. We had a room with a small kitchen so the mini market over the road was very well positioned and we could keep down the cost of eating out. The rooms were really clean and the huge bed was very comfortable. I’d definitely stay again.

NetherlandsThe faucet leaked and it took the shower 10 minutes to get lukewarm. From a practical point of view: when we just arrived we were told Fairway is the best supermarket to go, but Trader Joe's is right down the street: cleaner, much more options, oversight and more reasonable prices.
Location is amazing, and the hotel was clean and spacious. Welcome by the personnel was also very friendly, and further contact at any other time too. Staff was ready to help at any time, e.g. calling a cab or neighborhoodadvice. Great beds! We were situated streetside and noticed windows nicely isolated the streetnoise. View of the buildings across the street was mesmerizing, as was the dancers practising the danceschool we could see across the street (see attached pictures)
