눉Second stay at the Berkeley not so good. Rude Staff, booked on booking.com, selected pay with cash at the hotel, arrived at 5PM, tried to check in and I made the front desk aware I would pay with cash, gave them a card for incidentals. The front desk then insulted me and said "why would you want to pay with cash, I doubt you have the $592 on you", I was polite and informed him that yes I do want to pay in cash. He then charged my card for the incidentals and I handed him cash to pay for the room, he then told me not to pay now but when I checked out on Sunday morning. the next night (Saturday) I received a phone call from the hotel at 10PM stating that I had not paid for the room and I needed to come there and make immediate payment, they had deactivated my room keys. At 10PM at night, as we were out to dinner, I do not believe is the time to call a guest and demand payment while locking them out of their room. I had to go to the front desk have the key reactivated in order to get the money from the room, then go back down pay for the room, and then again a second time go down to have keys reactivated. The front desk treated me like I did something wrong when obviously I checked in and received my room from the previous nights employee, while being told not to pay until checkout on Sunday. If this experience wasn't bad enough, the room itself was not cleaned properly. There were stains on the sheets, on the bathroom walls etc. The place is in need of major upgrades in order to compete with the new hotel just a block away. After all of this, and after fully paying for the room in cash, I have not received my incidental deposit back to my card. I believe the staff needs more training on how to treat guests.

눉our bathroom sink was clogged
눇everything❤️& that even though i booked the room in my name & used my credit card to reserve the room, we were able to charge the room on my boyfriends credit card when we arrived to the hotel
