Things that made me a little sad were merely circumstantial, little things that are shaking out as Joseph (our host) works through odd problems that arise. I was locked out of my room due to a key malfunction, and it was a rather comical journey to get back in. There were housekeeping issues, like the beds hadn't been dusted under and my pet was coming up with strange hair and other dirt. When brought to Joseph's attention, he is ready to make these things right.

When I first looked at the facility, I paused, because it looked like a "no-tell motel" and wondered if it would be clean. After hearing from the owner that he had taken it over only six months prior, I was very impressed at the strides taken to improve the image and purpose of the place. It's a great location for the ski areas nearby, and is probably lovely in the warm months as well. Very family friendly, pet friendly, and accommodating to whatever needs or requests a traveler might have. Fresh nutritious foods are provided for breakfast. Fantastic mattresses and pillows.

Noisy wall unit air conditioner. The bathroom sink needed a screen, (sprayed water). The lamps had dull light bulbs. Also had no fitness room.

We were absolutely good with the vintage feel of the place, but this is not the place for you if you are looking for a Marriott-like atmosphere. Retro feel extends to decor, complete with actual keys for the door to your room, but beds were comfy and mattresses were great and seemed to be new.

Pool area was filthy, chairs overturned, mold on everything. Spiderwebs and hornet nests on the gazebo. The outdoor areas were not at all well-maintained or comfortable.

Bathroom sink had mold around ring could have been scrubbed out with toothbrush. Grout in shower had some mold and shower curtain was well used. Bloodstain on comforter covered by top sheet. Understanding that the motel was quaint, a little more attention to cleanliness would be appreciated.

Staff and Breakfast, gas fire pit in back. One of the better continental breakfasts I had. Fresh fruit and enough selection of cereal, bagels, waffles, hard boiled eggs, etc. wish the had a low fat milk though.

The bed was unbelievably hard and uncomfortable. We spent way more than it was worth. The room was dark and very out of date. The grounds just had a lot of junk.

I wish whoever prepared the room would check to be sure all the lights are plugged in (they weren't) and that the TV/Cable was properly plugged in (It wasn't.) Once we scrambled around to find plugs, the lights worked. We never called to get the TV hooked up since we really weren't in the room that long, but it would have been nice to turn on. Would have liked to see hard boiled eggs, or some protein, offered at breakfast, which was otherwise quite nice.

The place was easy to find. Small room, but very clean. Good comfortable bed & pillows and white, clean bedding. Nice hot shower with wide shower head. Refrigerator worked once you turned the thermostat on. Air conditioner worked fine. Breakfast was simple - cereal, waffles, fresh fruit, yogurt, coffee/tea etc.

Had a lovely stay at this roadside motel. Proprietor Joseph was very helpful. Rooms were perfectly adequate, clean, and comfortable. The grounds were lovely. It was wonderful listening to the brook outside as we slept. Still too chilly for the pool, but the location was beautiful. Wonderful breakfast.

The rooms were dirty and tired. One room had a dehumidifier that had a full tank and had stopped. The bathroom floor was soaking wet and dirty. The room stank. Nothing was adequately cleaned. I walked into the "kitchen" looking for a restroom and it was filthy and stunk. The breakfast was as minimal and limited as possible and the coffee was terrible. I would not recommend that anyone stay here until the place gets it act together.

The only positive thing about this place is the location (i.e., close to Solid Sound festival at Mass MOCA.

I stayed in a room that looked as if it hadn't been remodeled since the 1960's. It had a bad smell. The bathroom porcelain was chipped. It was seedy.
