Just suggestions, not criticism! It would be helpful to put the room numbers also on the stairs leading up to the rooms, it's hard to see the numbers when it gets dark, the light doesn't help... It would be great to have a tote bag in the rooms (which would be for sale), to put our things in when going to the spa. The snacks in the room could be healthier... it's a spa after all. When you put a fruit basket with oranges, don't forget a napkin and knife and plate. Green juices or ginger/turmeric shots on the menu would sell. Portions are huge and delicious and I understand that in the US people eat a lot, but maybe could there be an option of smaller portions as well? And more non-alcoholic choices...even though I understand a lot of clients come for the wine tasting.

We were overwhelmed with the staff, the quick service, the facilities, the food, and the wonderful positive vibe everywhere. It's very rare to get this quality of service, smiling faces and high standards, and it's obvious your staff is treated well, which makes all the difference! Loved the plastic slippers and bathrobe! And the hot cider...Liscia's massage was the best I've ever had!

    Nothing to criticize.

Love the warm welcome from staff - and the free amenities including a bottle of Bernardus wine in the room! Very comfortable beds. Love the space in the room and the outdoor views while strolling the property even on a chilly rainy winter day.

When we first arrived, there was a noisy crew of kids above us. They left at 6 that evening so all is well but it was a bit disconcerting to walk into this beautiful room and hear kids on scooters up above us.

I had a facial with Raquel and she was wonderful. THANK YOU for some much needed pampering. Also, the rest of your staff-front desk, bartender, hostess, cleaning crew were all friendly and helpful as we navigated being there for the first time. Also loved the noon check out time and not feeling rushed

Maybe extend the hours for the spa, especially access to the steam room.

The food in the Lucia restaurant was pretty average. We shared a Caesar salad which was pretty under dressed, under parmesaned and under anchovied. Julies chicken was underwhelming. I had the ravioli which was excellent. The crème bruleee custard was over cooked to a solid mass and the vanilla seeds hadn’t been mixed in much. Given the excellence of everything else the food was average.

The absolute quality of everything. It was so friendly and so comfortable. The room was great, nice touches, the cheese, Barnabus wine and drinks in room. Nice lawn area, putting fun but not Green standard; after a wine or two didn’t seem to matter. Henry in Lucia restaurant is a gem. Wine cellar lovely, serious wine list, do ask for the non standard list. The gardens are pretty special especially the vegetable garden.

The only issue that could have made the stay better would be to have streaming TV channel access in the room's TV (netflix-prime) as we didnt have access to our binge-worthy shows at night, but it is just a gentle suggestion.

Every detail was attended to, including welcome glass of rose and help with bags/ room operations. Heated floors in the bath and gratis snacks in the room, comfy beds and nice pool round out what we expect from a top tier resort.

the rooms have a couch but it doesn’t pull out. there is very little space for a roll away.

The property is amazing. Gorgeous gardens and a small vineyard up front, rooms and villas in the back. with an Olympic size pools and three hot tubs (one is actually a hot pool at the spa), saunas and steam rooms and all the snacks included - they were very nice, not your usual peanuts. a bottle of Provence rosé and beer, lemonade and water came with the room, in addition to wine being poured at the lobby in the afternoon. we had and amazing day hiking, and relaxing at the spa. Carmel Valley is small but delivers big in terms of beautiful nature, many wineries represented just in town, great food and a proximity of the beach, Carmel by the sea with more amazing food and cute shopping street. Pebble beach golf courses and Big Sur is just a short drive away. The Lodges restaurant serves delicious food. We would love to come back!

The service door was right outside our room and so it was very noisy during our stay as someone seemed to always be there. It also made us feel like there wasn’t enough privacy if someone is outside our door all the time.

Quiet and beautiful property with views of the valley from our room. The room was lovely and super cosy!

They need a better casual menu for dinner as an alternative. If you don't want to have dinner there, which we did not.....you have to go up a couple of miles to Carmel Valley Village, or down towards Carmel By-the -Sea. We enjoyed where we went but would have stayed on the property a couple of nights for dinner. For us, their dinner menu is too gourmet focused.

Unbelievable location. We consider Bernardus to be the most romantic and charming resort we have ever stayed at. The property is amazing, and so was their staff. The standard room is nice, but we did request to re-locate after a night to what turned out to be a fantastic room, which was larger with a great view. We were there for a week, so the right room was important to us.
