Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWell, I went in with low expectations (3 star hotel) however, the hotel was very dated overall. However! The biggest surprise was: there was a security office (with walkie talking blaring loudly) at EVERY door/entry into the property. What is going on? Few spoke English, until I finally found a English-speaking soul that explained: the security is in place for the immigrant's safety and well being, not because it's a dangerous place. Hum.. then I noticed: kids playing in the hallways, a folk pushing his bicycle to his room. Clearly the property is being used to house immigrants. That is not bad, at all. However, some are/were cooking in their rooms (not sure how, perhaps in the bathroom?) since at 6pm there was an OVERWHELMING food odor in my room. I had to turn the bathroom fan on and close the door, just to manage the smell. It stoped around 8pm. I really DO THINK that should be made clear when booking the hotel, that it's not really -any more- regular hotel but a combination of public housing. One more time, to be clear: I didn't feel unsafe at all. Everyone (!) was super friendly and cheerful. It just was a weird atmosphere and the food smell... oh boy.
The location was very good (walking distance to many good restaurants). Plenty of parking. The lady at the front desk during checkin and checkout (forgot her name) was super duper friendly. She is really a great asset, please commend her!

United StatesVery slow internet. Breakfast finished 40 mins earlier. The heating and air was so dry in the room that you couldn't fall asleep comfortably. Smell of marijuana. We stayed on the first floor and just outside our room someone was blasting music in their car and we couldn't sleep. Bathroom was too cramped. Issue with using the shower. Their were zero signal and no channels on the TV and no YouTube or WiFi programmed on TV.

United StatesRooms were Very dirty. We asked for a clean room or for someone to come clean it. They gave us another room which was better but not clean. At least the bed was clean. The soda vending machines were not working and the Bar was not open and NO hair dryers! Then they had nerve to collect a $150 deposit to be refunded if there was no damage to the filthy room.🤬 Will not rent there again.

United StatesIt needs better wi-fi!
The staff at this hotel were wonderful. Very friendly (as were the guests). That being said, this is a deep budget hotel. The rooms are run down, some - unfortunately- smell of smoke. The wifi is practically non-existent, too slow for running anything beyond basic email. The hospitality industry is feeling the effects of the US housing crisis and it is tough. We need more & better permanent housing for all, citizens and aspiring citizens. Until then, if you don’t need wi-fi and don’t mind physical environs a bit worse for wear, this place is pretty interesting.

United StatesToilet was leaking for three days and we had to constantly remind the staff. They finally, after three days, gave us a new room, and then the shower head was broken in that room. Staff was rude, and the overall cleanliness wasn't good. Minimal breakfast, and they closed the bar and lounge the entire time we were there.
The location was great.

JamaicaNo mattress cover on mattress, tvs were small for people with vision impairments, carpets in hallways had a mildew smell to them, stained tubs, the refrigerator had a mildew smell to it. The sink in bathroom drained slowly couldn’t pull stopper up. No latch on door for chain door stopper. Because we were next to the pool, the humidity in the room was high.
Beds were clean, view and access of pool from room. There were accessible outlets in room. Adequate towels. The bar was great served good drinks. Friendly DJ and bar tender. Friendly staff, rooms were clean except for a few minor things.
