We just slept at the hotel. We did not stay long enough to have a negative experience. The check in was strange, we were checked in via screen.

The room was clean and breakfast was good and the staff worked hard to make sure they kept the breakfast trays filled. We read a bunch of negative reviews and were wary but were pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness and breakfast.

1. The staircase could have been an elevator as it is very hard to take the luggage up to the 2nd floor 2. There could have been more breakfast

This hotel was at a good location, we stayed in this hotel on route 66, the check in was on a television using zoom and when it needs you to scan your passport, you have to put it in a machine to scan. The roon was quite good and it was clean enough, if you would to enter the breakfast roon, you need to tap the key on room 101 to enter

Furnishing were old - a microwave with a dial !!! Bathroom floor tiles were sketchy, but clean. No TV for our duration and no discount for lack of it.

I didn't like that once I began taking a shower, there was no body soap in the dispenser. Pretty inconvenient.

The room was large enough for the 2 of us & the beds were very comfortable.

It is located quite close to train tracks, however, we did not hear a single train during the night, so it really isn't an issue.

Doors to access the building are locked and require a room key to unlock. It is conveniently located on the outside of the city, making it easy to find, yet is still close to downtown Gallup.

Video check in process was awkward. I had planned to arrive at 1 pm which I got an email saying that may not be possible, but they would try. But I actually arrived around 5:30 pm and was told that they had to check to see if my room was ready yet. That was disappointing because it was past the 3 pm check in time.

The shower had trouble shutting off the water coming out of the spigot and going to the shower head.

The staff was great. They listened to the plumbing problems in our room. Overall, they were there to make our stay a good one.

The coffee in the room was terrible. The coffee during breakfast was only marginally better. They only provide maid service every two days. They did come in on the second day and give us fresh towels, soap and shampoo, but they did not clean up or even make the bed. You honestly don't get a lot for $100 per night anymore. Just a few additional touches could make this a 4.5 star hotel.

The room was comfortable and clean. Walls were a bit thin, as would be expected in an older hotel. There were recent upgrades, though. The jet tub was a nice touch. No extra charges for our service dog staying in the room either. The bed and bedding was very comfortable. The through the wall a/c unit kept the room very comfortable and was quiet. Breakfast was better than expected. We were expecting a continental breakfast based on some of the reviews. But we had a hot breakfast with scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy and bacon strips. Sure, the eggs were powdered and the gravy out of a can, but still, it was an unexpected upgrade.

The pool was a little bit rundown, and had a strong chlorine smell. The beds were very uncomfortable, and I did not sleep well.  the pillows were too big.  there were no by the pool. there were a couple of dead roaches on the concrete by the pool. Better dead than alive, though! 

it was very clean. I felt safe. The staff was polite. The hot breakfast had a little variety, but had good choices. I enjoyed it. My daughter was unable to find anything she liked, but she’s super picky.
