Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

There was an annoying clicking sound in the HVAC unit of our first room, and in the second room we constantly heard the elevator, which sounded like a foghorn. Even with the sliding door securely fastened, we could hear everything happening in the pool 3 stories below.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast selections varied from day to day, and the quality of the food was very good, as well as the coffee. One of the best features of this hotel was the free parking!

Website insinuated it had airport shuttle service. Actually, it only offered shuttle service to cruise ships.

Room could be more modern. Old furniture, noisy head of bead old lamps and no sub plugs. Is this the 24th Century in the US?

Excellent breakfast. Very clean and comfortable room. Very quiet and safe location. Good restaurants in walking distance. Very good accessibility by car at any time from the downtown area of San Diego. Excellent parking at the hotel. Very helpful staff and an excellent business centre (I had to print boarding passes).

Not so much of a dislike and more of sharing for awareness. The room we stayed in is small for 4 grown adults and is better suited for 2 adults and 2 small children under 10 years old.
Complimentary breakfast although the menu is standard which is expected given it is complimentary.

The property is kinda old, there’s no easy access from the covered parking lot to the hotel entrance you need to take few steps on the stairs, but there’s no parking fee which compensates it.
The staffs are really nice.

Because of fog our flight to London was late so that we missed the connection flight to San Diego. The hotel was kind enough let us check in a day later without any charge for the missed night. All in all a very good experience.

Definitely older, could use some updating.
Good location, near harbour. It’s not the fanciest hotel, but good value for the price. Small deck to sit on. Comfortable and clean. Staff helpful. Breakfast had lots of choices. Outdoor Pool and hot tub just fine. Also offered free shuttle to cruise port, on cruise days, which was a bonus for us.

Location in point Loma was a great base for exploring San Diego. The hotel is basic but spacious and ideal for a good few days. Breakfast is an added bonus and the staff were soo sooo friendly and helpful!

We had two rooms, my adult kids and my husband I. The kids room was on a different floor. They had giant fan in their room which we had to get removed, the maintenance guy was just gonna walk in, I just happen to be getting off the elevator when I said..wait. This room also had a broken toilet. I understand this property is over 40 years old but it needs more love. The carpets are threadbare and stained. Beds are older and saggy.
Checking in was easy, everyone was friendly. The distance from the top parking area was easy. Breakfast was delicious. Our room had a great view and we were lucky enough to have, what I am guessing is a peregrine falcon family living in the top of a cut off palm tree. I enjoyed the walk to Starbucks, Point Loma Seafood.

A bit out of the way if you don’t have a car and breakfast got very very busy.
Excellent communication- value for money with great staff. Good choice at breakfast and pool was heated. Very large rooms with view of harbour.
