Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

I wish there were towel racks in the bathroom. There was only a small hook behind the bathroom door to hang something.
The breakfast was very good. There was plenty to choose from. The location was very convenient for us. Hotel was clean and comfortable.

When we got there the room smelled of weed, like real bad. I will say they immediately took care of it and made it right with no trouble to myself or anyone else. I didn't mind the smell I just didn't want the smoking charge when I checked out. The pillows absolutely suck they are terrible and shouldn't be called pillows. The bathroom is super small, like so small it's nearly impossible to get in and shower comfortably. They really upcharge the room because of a music festival that was in town that weekend. Of course I know that's how it works but I still don't like it.
Friendly staff and nice property with tons of food really close around. Hotel is really nice and in a safe area of town with lots to do within a 15 minute drive.

I didn’t like that I saw roaches, someone was smoking on my floor, and it was kids running and knocking on doors in the middle of the night.
I loved the location of the property. I loved the kindness of the staff.

There was a large variety of types of bread. And for hot food, they had eggs, potatoes and sausage. I liked the buffet style. When the breakfast room was too crowded, It was easy to make a plate and take it back to the room. Very convenient.

The breakfast was disgusting. It was cold, the biscuits were hard and the eggs didn’t taste good. There was rust on the lights in the shower of master bedroom bath.

It would have been great to have the breakfast earlier in the day on weekends. We were leaving quite early and were unable to eat before we left. Obviously this wasn't a big deal, but it would have been nice to eat before we left.
The room was clean and comfortable, including the beds, which is unusual in a hotel. The breakfast was adequate - not stellar, but not garbage either. This was a comfortable stay and I would choose Comfort Inn again.

Not enough handicapped parking spaces. We only saw 2. There should be at least one for every accessible room. This is the only thing that led me to give less than a perfect score.

The room initially smelled strongly of bleach. I took a 10-minute shower and was running out of hot water well before the end. At times the air unit was pretty noisy.
The front staff were very friendly, nice and helpful. The breakfast offerings were good and the beds were comfortable. The room prices were reasonable considering it was a UNC game weekend and we booked a couple weeks beforehand.

The toilets barely flushed and our second room for family the bathtub didn’t train. Breakfast was decent but we had to wait 37 minuets to get any food due to running out an nobody keeping a check on it

Ran out of coffee at breakfast. Also, ran out or most all breakfast food items by 8:30 am. Supposed to offer breakfast from 7:00- 10:00. Very disappointed.
