To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United States of AmericaBoth rooms had issues. One did not have a working phone and the other had a fiddly lock that took several tries to open from the inside. Pool was closed and ice maker was not working.
Room was clean. For an older property they have done what they can to modernize.

United States of AmericaAfter booking we called at 11:20 p.m. to inquire when the next shuttle to the airport would arrive? A Hispanic gentleman answered and said 12pm. I asked again when is the next shuttle? He stated every hour on the hour from 12pm-6pm. I stated the confirmation email I received stated the shuttle ran from 6am-12am, so is the next shuttle at midnight? Once again he stated the next shuttle is at 12pm. We were able to get the Comfort Inn Shuttle to take us and drop us off at the Days Inn. The young Hispanic gentleman who checked us in must’ve been in training, he made a number of mistakes and had to ask the other clerk a number of questions before we were able to get our room. Upon entering the room the light switch didn’t turn anything on, we fumbled and found the bathroom light switch to illuminate our way into the room. We tried watching the TV which turned on promptly with the remote however, an error message appeared stating “weak signal or no signal;” We called the front desk and the clerk stated the Wi-Fi was down. So we connected our tablet to the hotel Wi-Fi and watched a movie. The bathtub needs to be reglazed it appeared to be clean but the finish makes it appear to be dirty.

United States of AmericaThis is a not the place for families. We flew in late at night and when we got to the property there were a lot of questionable adults just walking around outside. The reason we booked was because it was affordable for the area and the pictures looked really nice. You have to walk outside to get to your room so it’s not an actual hotel. It’s definitely more like a motel. We heard woman scream around 1am and there were just a bunch of adults sitting outside and arguing around the same time. The rooms are small and don’t feel safe or secure. We were there for 20 min before we requested a refund as we did not feel our family was safe. We ended up staying 10 min down the road at the holiday in for maybe $40 more.

My flight was cancelled and the closest hotel available (with a shuttle) was this one. My room was in a building not so close to the front desk (which is literally just a front desk, with nothing else). The "restaurant" is just a Subway without any coffee. Staff was busy as there were many flights cancelled that night so they didn't sound so friendly even though they were helpful. The room was "ok" with a broken bulb in the wardrobe (unable to turn off) and a leak in the shower I myself had to fix not to wet everything else in the bathroom. The coffee maker was a bit dirty and could not clean it. It was ok to spend a night I was supposed to spend at the airport, but too expensive for what it is.

United KingdomIn the morning there were several people waiting for the 6am shuttle which didnt arrive until half past but there was no one on the front desk to check on this and several people ended up calling an uber and were concerned they would be late for their flight.

Dominican RepublicI'll be honest, i read the reviews and was apprehensive. It was not good, but it was not as bad as the reviews make it out to be. I didn't see any bugs and the linen was clean. It was just for a 12-hour layover so it got the job done. Had i booked just a week further in advance, there was better options at the same price point. The check-in process was quick and they were very friendly. The area around the hotel was a little shady, but that's the case for most airport hotels. If it's just for a few hours, you're short on cash or a quick stop to rest it gets the job done.
