눉Beds, little cheap plastic balcony chairs, food was horrible and expensive. No alcohol aloud, no smoking any where,One mixed drink at the bar was $8.00. Pool was too little.
눇Staff was great and the place was clean and quiet.

눉Within the context of Ocean City, there is nothing to dislike about the Dunes Manor hotel, but I didn't find the context of Ocean City very enjoyable. For my tastes it is crowded, intensely over-developed, and very commercial. Everything is over-priced. The beach is groomed and very artificial looking. I saw many people in the mid-day openly violating posted "No smoking" and "No bicycles on the boardwalk after 11am" signs. I did see some police on the boardwalk in the evening. Walking along the boardwalk in the morning there was a substantial amount of trash from the previous night's revelries, though to Ocean City's credit, there were plenty of trash removal people actively in the process of cleaning it up. Other than the boardwalk itself for a morning jog or bike ride, or simple to walk along, the proximity of the hotels to the beach, and the density of "amusements", there seemed to be little reason to go to Ocean City. I'd rather go to the beach in some other, less crowded, less developed, cheaper, and more natural place.
눇Ocean breezes and the relaxing sound of waves on the beach. Having dinner, a drink, or just sitting, on the "porch" overlooking the ocean. Room was pleasantly decorated. Bed was comfortable. Lobby and other common areas have an elegant but comfortable decor. Within Ocean City, the Dunes Manor has a good location overlooking the dunes and the ocean -- immediate access to the beach -- just past the north end of the boardwalk. It is close enough to everything, but a bit removed from the concentrations of people, and significantly removed from the crassest and most commercial parts of the town.

눉I realize you pay what the market will bear, but when the market gets up beyond $400 per night per room, perhaps they could put two little bars of soap instead of one, or two blankets for the two queen beds instead of one, or more than two servings of coffee. I felt like they were scrimping a nickel here and a dime there on my $440 room.
눇Great view and balcony. Fine old hotel. Adequate facilities. Nothing dirty or broken.
