Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IsraelThere was loud re-construction noise on my floor during the day (hence only a good rating for question 2: How was your stay at Hotel Edison Times Square?) . It was not easy to get breakfast food for my son who has allergies to some types of food. The rooms are slightly smaller than I would have liked (but were more than sufficient for our needs).
Staff was very helpful and cheerful, especially the doorman, reception staff, and cleaning staff. Excellent location. The beds were comfortable. There were sufficient electrical outlets.

CanadaThe very loud air conditioning that went on and off constantly with no controls in the room. We could not even hear the tv. Very annoying. The $40 “facility fee” was very unfair. The wine offered was not even at the hotel so not use-able for us. The breakfast was not even free - it was very nasty to add a $6.95 charge for breakfast - it should have been complimentary. This fee is very unfriendly and is simply a nasty cash-grab. When the rate posted at booking.com is $251 and the bill with taxes and fees comes to $337, this is unacceptable from a consumer standpoint. This room was adequate but very tiny and without charm or any frills.
Location. Reasonable rate for Times Square area. Very comfortable bed. Nice shower. Starbucks coffee in room.

United States of AmericaRoom was small, but that was expected. The bathroom felt more like an old water closet, and it needs updates.
Location is excellent. It's a beautiful hotel right in Times Sq. and the room was reasonably quiet. We got a good night sleep. The to go breakfast was reasonable. We didn't like the yoghurt but the croissants were very good. We had a table to sit in that charming basement space. Elevators and overall security was very good, particularly for such a busy area. The front desk staff, porter, valet parking and cleaning staff were all very attentive. We felt welcome and taken care of.

KazakhstanFor the price we paid we got tiny room with wall-view, very loud AC outside you can’t do anything about. The breakfast could be better. Even if Grab-n-go they could do some rotation instead of presenting same food every day.
Good location. Close to Times Square.

United KingdomThere charged $40 resort fees + taxes a night, which did not include the $6.50 for a "mean" looking Breakfast that totaled $10 a person (with tax and tip). It can all add up for a family of 4. Don't be lured into attractiive prices... they'll add it all back other ways. Room was sooo dark I had to use my phone flashlight to find things.
The location was great and close to lots of sights and transport

United States of AmericaFor the price of room, plus new resort fee, I got one small cup of coffee!! No other amenities in room. That breakfast was deplorable. As a former NYer and coffee drinker this is just companies being stingy.
Easy location, classic place, and very well maintained in terms of clean and staffing.

United States of AmericaWiFi never worked (which was part of the $40 a day resort fee), hot water for the shower took 20 minutes to get when running at max heat, and no mini fridge (even for medicine storage) made it a bit frustrating.
