floors looked clean but when i waled on them bare foot i felt with every step the filth !!outdated facilities.

Bed was comfy, tv was great as well as wifi location was just steps from the beach and the shower pressure was HEAVEN.

They don’t turn over the rooms daily and when they did after we asked, they took our towels and did not replace them nor did they refill the toilet paper. We had to go out and ask for them.

The few light bulbs out in the room in the TV didn't work well first I had to call the front desk End, they took care of it. Apot, from that, everything was great.

Expected more amenities for the rate paid. The hot water didn't last long and wish there could have been ramp to pull heavy lugge up to 1st floor walk-up.

In order to get to my room, I had to go outside into the garden and walk up stairs to get to my room. After I checked in it was no big deal, but traveling up and down (especially when I went up the wrong stairway...oops...) with a suitcase and backpack was something I was not a happy camper about. Whoever built this hotel (no fault of the current staff) didn't realize that Florida weather tends to be unpredictable. This detail can't be helped since the hotel was built in 1938, and is just a nitpick on my end. Mind you, the hotel does have elevators! If you are unable to use stairs they are able to accommodate for you! I am able-bodied and CAN use stairs but if that weren't the case I am certain that they would have put me in a different room accessible by elevator! The only small thing I had an issue with was that there was a mini fridge but no microwave in the room. Not a huge deal. After all, when in Miami, one must try all different types of foods.

I have always wanted to stay in a Miami Beach hotel. They've always been unique, cute, and made me feel like they were out of a movie. This hotel is no different. Originally built in 1938, the architecture was absolutely gorgeous and within walking distance of many tourist attractions, including the beach. The bed was comfortable, the tv and couch were perfect, and the garden was adorable. Staff was always professional and happy to help whenever I needed it. I was there for a film festival and it was perfect walking distance to the venue, as well as other points of interest like Versace Mansion and (if you're a movie buff) sets from various movies like Scarface and Bad Boys.

I had some issues with water and AC in the room, but were fixed. Elevator took a while to work again and there was no ice machine for 3 days.

I can not get an invoice either from the hotel or the booking dot com.

The hotel is near Lincoln Road and 5 mins ride to the convention center. Behind the hotel is the beach and with a lot of restaurants nearby. Staff are nice to give you a hand when asking.

Everything is within walking distance. It's in the heart of The Art Deco District, a block over from the beach, a CVS, restaurants and blocks away (walking or quick Uber) to other areas of South Beach. I prefer quieter spaces and you can still find some within the hustle and bustle of S. Beach. I enjoyed reading on the rooftop, watching the world go by.

The entrance of the hotel is always people sitting in the sofa’s outside watching the in and out. They are super noisy and it’s hard to sit outside and relax.

No restock the room coffee and the water. We asked for room service and the service wasn’t available after waiting for a response 1 hour . they were cleaning the room, changing the bed, but they didn’t clean the floor, not even once

I loved that we were close to the beach and to the ocean drive! We get an amazing room ! We had free coffee in the room at the espresso machine, but also free breakfast at the restaurant “bacon bitch”( coffee and a croissant with butter and fruit jam. We loved our stay at Essex house ! Thank you!

I did not like there was no hot water or shower. The lighting was out in the restroom. There was no curtain over the tub for privacy. I didn't like I had to request my room to be cleaned daily.

The guests at the pool area and actually just the whole pool area at South was a little ghetto lol  and the bacon bitch restaurant attached to the hotel was awful. As far as serving alcohol. I asked for a double shot and got less than a single shot returned. It didn’t pay for it and went somewhere else.

Locations is great! Close to Ocean Drive for all the nightlife and bars. A block away from the ocean. Bed is comfortable. Shower pressure is great. Staff was friendly and helpful.
