To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United States of AmericaOnly 1 of the bedrooms got cool. No real cold air in the other bedroom. Maintenance came & looked at the A/C and changed the filter, but that did not fix the problem at all. Luckily it was manageable for 3 nights.
Had the 2 bedroom suite, which was perfect for our group of 4. Used the small kitchen & it had what we needed. Pool was nice & hotel close to water taxi dock. Maybe a 10 minute walk to the beach in one direction and a 10 minute walk to Publix in the other direction.

United States of AmericaThe room we stayed in had an mildew smell there were many items like the microwave oven that seem to need cosmetic repair handle seem it was going to fall off. There was a leak on bathroom facet and the kitchen refrigerator needed to be looked at since it was frosted inside the coils. Seems that some more simple maintenance would bump this place up a rating.
The View and large balcony and room size was very nice. The location was amazing as the water taxi if you choose to use it, pulls right up to the hotel. The ability to jump on it and travel up and down the canal was awesome.

United States of AmericaThe bedroom lights did not work at all. Either a fuse had blown but for one room in a suite to be completely dark was unacceptable at the price point of the suite. Housekeeping should have been aware of this deficiency and caught it and fixed it.
