Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The water pressure in the shower was... 3/10. Temperature was also hard to adjust.

These were minor issues for me but the rooms are poorly insulated for noise: bring ear plugs. The TV had bad reception and only a few channels available.
Friendly staff and my room was clean and included everything I needed. I enjoyed my stay overall.

You do hear noise from Grant Street...but I asked for a room overlooking Grant so this was not a bid deal for me.
The room was exactly what I requested at the end of the hall with two windows.

As expected fron photos, the room was okay but did not feel that safe: windows and doors are rather thin with gaps. Could not controll heater, at some point it started working and it was warm. Without heater and thin single-glass windows it is cold.
Not much to praise or complain. Staff was kind, and room was cleaned every two days. Shower is warm and clean. Location next to China town gate was quite good!

The beds were not comfortable as they were quite hard. Additionally, the quality of the TV was very poor.
Wonderful location, in the middle of Chinatown. Staff were very accommodating, an early check-in was no problem. The shower was fantastic.

being an older building you could hear every neighbour walking about; luckily there is a quiet policy.

There is no Air conditioning. It was so hot and stuffy in the rooms even when it was breezy outside. We asked for an extra fan and how to open the windows. They did provide an extra fan and explained how to open the windows. The bed was pretty tough and the elevator felt a little iffy. It was very small. It could comfortably fit 3 people. It was fine for the short time we stayed in an expensive city. AfterWe arrived we almost looked for another place to stay because of the lack of Air Conditioning. That really was the most uncomfortable part.
The location was great. It was on a corner that was near Chinatown as well as a lot of bars and restaurants. We were able to walk most places and then Uber to Oracle Park.

The bed and clean uo could be beter.

Wry helpful and staff. Excellent location within walking distance if Union Square. One block walk from California Cable Car line. Short two block walk from #30 Stockton bus. Nothing fancy. Perfect if you want a room only for sleeping while visiting San Francisco.

Problem with the twin bed I had but I was moved to a separate room with a double bed. Very accommodating staff, they allocated the spare room without any issues.. The rooms are just that - somewhere to sleep.. Don’t expect to be able to lounge about in your room.. Space is a premium.. And if you’re on holiday/vacation, the only reason to be in the room is to sleep or shower and both these requirements are catered for satisfactorily.
Location is great. 👍Have stayed at Grant Plaza on multiple occasions and will stay there again. ✌️ Staff very helpful and understanding. I had a major problem with my bed. I was moved to another room, no extra charge, no questions asked..

Being able to make a cup of tea/coffee in our room would have been great.
Well located in Chinatown and a short walk to downtown transport hubs. Friendly staff and helpful on best ways to get around SF using the Clipper Card (hot tip - much cheaper on the app).
