Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyThe only thing missing was a hair dryer. Also, the shower fixtures could be replaced with newer ones. We also didn't like the bedding as it was 2 sheets and a blanket in between like a sandwich. The free breakfast in the morning is just some pastries. They are good but not really healthy but the deal is to get you running in the morning. Unfortunately, even though they serve it from 08:00-10:00, there is usually hardly anything left at 09:00. One day there was a Chinese guy on an electric scooter in the lobby who emptied half of the display into a plastic bag and left, so no wonder other hotel guests sometimes get almost nothing.
Very solid budget hotel in the heart of San Francisco. Sure it has seen better days, but the location, staff and amenities are unparalleled at this price point. The staff was friendly, the rooms had everything you need. We had a problem with our room at first as the hearing in the room was at maximum power and wouldn't turn off. The problem seemed to be on the entire 2nd floor. It was impossible to sleep there as it was like a dry sauna and you couldn't open the windows. However, the front desk staff moved us to a room on the 5th floor in the middle of the night so we could sleep well and we were happy with the new room and we could even open the windows and let in some fresh air. Also it was very quiet in this higher floor room. The elevator also worked, but you couldn't get to the 2nd floor. At the reception you can get tea, coffee, water and ice around the clock. There is also a microwave and a computer. The hotel is within walking distance to all parts of the city and public transportation is close by. There are also quite a few places to eat in the area.

United States of AmericaThe hotel was well worth it. The location, close to China town and in walking distance to other attractions like Pier 39, was exactly what we needed. The room was basic but extremely clean and the staff was very friendly and super accommodating (we were able to check in already at 9am instead of 3pm and were offered a new room when our key card was not working properly).

SwitzerlandThe staff was not very pleasant. The receptionist doesn't say the basic 'hello' and smiles in a fake way. Attending staff just pulls your dishes aggressively while you are still eating your breakfast from it. The rest of the experience was fine, though, although a bit pricey, but I guess that's because of the location.
The room was roomy. The bathroom was clean, with well functioning water. The beds were comfortable. The location is great.

NetherlandsIf I have to name one thing it would be that insulation is not great, so you can hear noise from the hallway. But luckily other guests were quiet and considerate.
Great value for money. The building is old, but well kept. Rooms have everything you need and in the morning there is a nice small breakfast.

Pleasantly surprised! I wanted someplace quiet, safe, within walking distance to the places I needed to go, and this was it! Room was perfect size (even for 3 people), beds were comfortable, and you can’t beat coffee/tea 24 hrs and pastries in the morning. Desk staff were friendly and helpful! I’d stay here again!
